Doesn't FanFooty always add 1 point per game? Or is that just throughout the live game then displayed accurately after the match is over?

I thought the 1 point was to stop a player having something done before a possession getting a zero therefore you get the bench cover score

Not sure about Serong's midfield opportunity, especially compared to Green's early in the year so he's not in for now. I realise he might need to come in and the team might need to be reshuffled if rookies don't show up. Thinking more and more about doing JKelly over Dunkley depending on what comes about Libba's status in the near future, but don't have the money for now anyway.

I like this team, Dusty the glaring hole for me, my thoughts on Lynch have already been made known, would probably rather take a chance on Acres at that same price point, some will agree, most will disagree but it's a nice team to start Gawn and Grundy and still get potentially 14 keepers.

Yep, think this is the right structure for now if you want gawn and the def rookies look solid enough

@pizza safety

That's pretty solid for this time of the season, though I would've like to see a little bit more ITB for the inevitable Rookies 'swap meet' during R1. One thing I've noticed and commend you is that the core of your team from one version to the next has essentially stayed unchanged with only Rookies adjustment post Marsh 1, easier says than done. Kudos to you and gives me the impression that you're pretty set with regards to your preferred starting structure, provided that you get the Rookies to land in their spots.

My pre Marsh version is currently under 'lock & key' and am not touching that until after this weekend's matches. With that says, I do like to tinker with other possibilities so am having a little play to help me get by.

Cheers Thunder. I’m hoping that Dusty has a couple of games where he gets tagged and I can get him a bit cheaper.

Not 100% sold on Lynch but I’m less sold on Acres/Brayshaw and I doubt I pick them.

I like Greenwood more than any of them but I’m nowhere close to being able to afford him at the moment given that I want to stick to the 14 keepers structure. This structure might change if Roberton shows a lot in the next game (Sicily to Roberton and Lynch to Dusty)

Wingard is another cheaper option but he is a burn man

Love the diversity in teams people. Every year blows my mind how the slightest 50/50 structural decision can be the difference in your team being top 500 or in the pack around 40k after 3 rounds.
ANYWAY bit scared with no Whitfield and Gawn in this side but i really like the players on field in this side as i think I've limited the chance of getting stuck with those 30-40 scores on field.
I honestly think every fwd ive picked can be top 8.
Obviously will need Dusty and Whitfield in and maybe have devon later in the season as bench cover for fwd/mid.
Ps. Not sold on docherty yet.

Love this team. Even just dropping Whitfield down cam make a big difference.

Just note you have 1-2 less rookies than others. If you have failed midpricers that can put you behind as u use an extra trade and missed potentially $150k of value. Ability to push devon to 23rd player requires strong team value, which unless this model nails all the players is hard to do.

After round 5 last year for debut rookies, only bewley was a decent cash cow and he didnt do that well.

Cheers mate. Im pretty loose with trades. If a mid price fwd is failing ill probably downgrade to the best performing rookie and upgrade another mid price if required. Naismith my concern but gotta take a risk to have a deep fwd line

I think your premium choices look all fine (I would prefer TLynch to Greenwood actually) but I think a side with $1k left is just not a realistic side. At the very least, I think you'd need to to do a TLynch down to JSteven or Whitfield to Dusty for some breathing space.

The way it is, if come R3, and a Brander or Serong look like gun must have rookies, you'll have no choice but to overlook them. Plently still to play out and I'm also not sure if we'll be able to have a structure with two basement rookies on field. What's your alternative if the def rookies don't get named in R1? I presume some sort of reshuffle to get Roberton at D4?

The rookies would be equally realistic if I turned Starcevich into McHenry and then I’d still be 28k short of being able to correct a 123k mid rookie to Serong with one correction trade. There’s heaps to play out and I have different teams and players in mind (including with Dusty over Whitfield)

Like I said if I need to select Serong I will and that goes for other expensive players and all of those would require a reshuffle. The rookies I’ve picked are realistic based on my research.

I will be surprised if Brander is named round one btw.

I want to see Roberton play first before considering him too heavily.

After much fiddling I think this is what I will be rolling with until the rookie situation becomes a bit clearer:

ITB: about $30k (depending on choices)

DEF: J Sicily, D Houston, S Docherty, D Roberton, L Ash, D Greaves (T Watson, W Gould)

MID: J Macrae, L Neale, C Oliver, T Kelly/ZMerrett, S Coniglio, M Rowell, T Green, M Pickett (C Serong, J McInerney, M Hibberd)

RUC: B Grundy, M Gawn (Cobden)

FWD: D Martin, C Petracca, TJ Lynch/ TMac, DSmith, S Hill, D Cameron (Rankine, Budarick)

Have toyed with starting Naismith over Gawn and may still do so, but otherwise I think its pretty stettled.

Thoughts?
