Comments: I knew Docherty, if he played, wouldn't be worth a crumpet, and so it was. Rivers (107) stuck on the bench 2 weeks in a row. Was projected to score around 2,450 after a few games, which I knew would have been 200-250 behind the big scores. Now with the crash since Saturday, I'm 400+ behind the big scores. My 11 injury/suspension trades have caught up with me, and I'm still playing 2 Rookies on field. I was pretty sure my Ranking would slide the last 2 Rounds, I'm just crossing my fingers it's not too much!
Planned Trades: 0 left.

Heroes: Bont, Gawn VC, Laird, Parker, Lloyd, Ridley, Fyfe, Devon, Trac, Greenwood, ZWilliams
Villians: SAM DOCHERTY (for being "adamant to play") and the Carlton medical staff (for "thinking he'd be okay"), Danger, Neale, Titch, Wingard (although that 59 pt second half was a life saver)
Trades Made: JMartin to Wingard..... and then Wicks to C.Lyons for cash when Doch was named (rather than going ahead with Doch to Daniel).
Trades Planned: 2 left. Doch to Daniel and maybe Parker to Oliver or Macrae
Comments: Finding it hard to believe that I went up so highly in the overall rankings despite copping Doch's injury score and also Danger's stinker. I was very distraught and on the drinks at HT of the Doggies v Hawks game with new trade in Wingard on 11 to rub further salt in the wounds after also copping Doch's injury score. I had so many iterations of trades where I would've avoided the injury score, but the option I chose in the end meant he was straight on field for me. Was getting ready to pack up the bags for next season. But the turnaround from that point was crazy, Wingard turned it around with a 59 pt half and Bont and Parker put in massive scores too. My usual headache negative pods in Oliver and Macrae had quieter rounds. Greenwood topped off a great finish in the end and somehow allowed me to jump to 150 odd! Looking like I'll end up with three great rankings in a row!

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to defeat @teatai in the SCS $50 cash league. I got done by the Doch injury vs Rivers E score.... and lost by 34 odd pts. Was lucky enough to edge out GG in the PL and also made it through to the SCS LG league final after defeating PC. Key matchups against fellow mods in Ben's Beasts and THCLT await! Also made it passed AllisWells in his perennial highly ranked SCSBoTB league. Also will face off against Snowman in the No.1 ranked league Draft Gods of SC. Plenty of key showdowns in the final round of play.

Good luck to all in the final round and to all those in GFs (except my GF opponents :p )

Heroes: 13 tons
Villains: Oliver 87 and Captain, Doc 13, Jack Martin DNP, Williamson 35, Close 36, Haynes 46, Zorko 68

Comments: Got off to a flyer with my first 6 scores being tons, then the wheels started to fall off. Martin out meant Close came in, Riccardi donut, was hoping for a Zac Foot late call up, but didn't eventuate. Doc doing his calf after a few minutes didn't help. Poor performances by my villains contributed to my downfall, however, I only have myself to blame, switched captain from Macrae to Oliver thinking he couldn't have 2 bad games in a row, I was wrong. Macrae wasn't much better, however, if I held off could have easily switched to someone else, 'Dunkley ' maybe. Some amazing scores posted and still have some blokes in contention, bring it home!! I'll be hoping to stay in the top 10k, but really in freefall with injuries and no trades left. 😜

Comments: Had the potential to get almost 2400 this round, lost 181 points in bad captaincy and bad on field options.

Congrats to @Herbie66 on the weekly victory in our head to head comp, well deserved. Two in a row! Left your run a bit late, but thanks for the competition - we seemed fairly well matched this season.

Great to see so many good scores once again. Good luck to everyone in their grand finals that are still alive and your final chance to get the ranking you are after.

I'm personally on track for my best ever season surprisingly - I have never taken it seriously until last year though. Hoping for a great last round and to make the top 25K, but even maintaining my rank and finishing top 30K I will be happy with. After having a starting team set up for 1 round (very few rookies, lots of mid pricers), it was a lot of effort to get anything close to competitive this season.
Planned Trades: Still none left.

Zeroes: A whole bunch of ‘premos’ between 67 and 98, Neale (55), Lukosius (54), Haynes (46), Doc (13)
Comments: Dawson surprise out and Doc’s early demise capped a dismal round.
Disappointed to drop out of the top 5000, plus lost 4 of 5 finals.
My upcoming opposition in the GF scored 2400+, so it’s not going to be pretty.

Good luck to Bontempele & Presto in the SCS06 GF

Time to wrap up this season and think about next year.

Trades Out: Dev Smith :cautious:
Trades In: Hugh Greenwood
Heroes: JLloyd, Ridley, Caleb Daniel, Zac Williams, Trent Rivers, Goodie for telling me to loophole Keane for Rivers because he wouldn't come in and making me avoid Doc's score, Keane for not being a late in, Collingwood's backline for not getting injured during warm ups, Zerrett, Fyfe, Gawn C, Petracca, Hugh Greenwood, Walters
Villains: Haynes, Oliver, Neale, Danger, Titch, Simpkin, myself for trading out Dev instead of Simpkin
Trades planned: Docherty to Maynard very likely, will continue to consider Steven May (but he has burn potential). Jayden short will be my choice if there's no Bachar for any reason.

Comments: It was a week with a lot of down performances and terrible performances from the likes of Haynes, Oliver, Danger and Simpkin. I was also missing players like Bont, Laird and Stewart and this was made worse by me trading Dev Smith to Greenwood instead of Simpkin (58 pt mistake). I've had a very good year so some regression from these players is probably fair.

Don't regret getting Greenwood and think the 120 from Dev wasn't predictable but I was so concentrated on the fact we had Port and were gonna get smashed and wanted to ditch 1 of my 3 Essendon players that I partially overlooked Dev's 95 avg over 4 games as a defender (now 100 across 5 games). I thought Greenwood would outscore Dev by 30 this week and that would help me in my cash league, but not to be. I just traded the wrong forward to Greenwood when choosing between Walters, Dev and Simpkin.

Lost my most important cash league prelim and 2 of my other most important prelims, but I won 1 of my important finals and there was also some positives. Z Williams turned a corner, Walters was finally back to some good scoring and my luck in loopholing Rivers and avoiding Docherty (thanks in part because @Goodie's Guns told me Keane had no chance of getting a game) was massive. This greatly reversed some of my bad luck and poor decision making.

Still inside the top 100 with dreams of sneaking inside the top 50! Well done to all the leagues again!

Villians: Dawson, McKay, Neale, Titch, Wingard, Martin
Planned Trades: 1 left. will deal with either Martin to save another 0 if possible, hopefully Dawson gets up and no other unexpected outs
Comments: Considering a 0, 13 and a 37 were included its not a bad result I guess. 12 of the 21 scored 97+, which helped off-set some of the damage. Docherty playing actually helped me to a degree as I had already used McKay and his 37 to cover the un-expected out from Dawson, so 13 was better than nothing and it also blocked a large number of coaches from getting better scores from guys like Rivers off their bench so that was a silver lining.

Well done to @Diabolical and @Philzsay on reaching the GF in the inaugural SCSPL2. I was always going to be up against it, but the 0 and the out of Dawson meaning I had to take McKay (who had his worst game for the year or so it seems). Best of luck to both coaches as they aspire to SCSPL2 greatness.

Still hanging on ranking wise I guess, not sure how much longer I can...

Has not been the end to the season that I had hoped for

Comments: My aim at the start of the year was to make at least 1 Grand Final from my 5 leagues, I got into 3 Grand Finals ('Old Farts', 'SuperCoach Quartets 1' and a 'Public League', happy!
Cashed up Draper sitting on the bench was always going to be traded out for a forward (via Comben). A Brayshaw averaging 100 seemed a safe choice.
Initially, I was planning to keep Docherty because reports indicated that he was going to play, but my circumstances changed. All my opponents had Gawn (150) Captain, and I don't have Gawn. It looked unlikely that I would win any league finals, so I had to act. My biggest concern was Docherty (a last minute out), so I traded him out for Maynard.
I feel I have a team strong enough to win the Grand Finals, if they play to their averages, but will need all of them playing next round. I'll be pleased if I win one.
Good luck to all the Grand Finalists (except my GF opponents :devilish: ).

Rank 15th (from 16th but TS donors dropped out so really didn’t change rank). 107 points from Top 10.

Trades: Draper to Rozee to loop with Jeremy Cameron.

Comments

Ok so its my best season ever by the length of the Flemington straight, but I’m feeling a little deflated. Didn’t quite have the luck I needed to make the jump up. Last 6 weeks my rank has been 22-14-17-15-16-15. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining but I feel so close yet soooooooooo far away.

Took Rivers score in the mids which is absolutely the right move, but I benched Parker to do this over Cripps (lost 37 points).

Doc – like everyone else annoyed but what can you do? Well months back if I had the foresight to trade in a D/M donut rather than just a Def donut I would have moved Rivers back to cover the potential outs of Williams/Doc, then I would have got rivers in Def and Parker in the mids, plus 150 odd points grrrrrrr and would have been in 8th.

Anyway, its not a game of shoulda woulda coulda, I still am 15th and still in with a shot at top 10 if 1 or 2 of my pods fires this week or a teeny weeny little bit of luck goes the way I need. 1 trade left and $30k which will be used on Doc.

Also its really great to see so many SCS’s doing well in both overall and your various league finals. Keep it up lads, 10 in the top 100 and 47 in the top 1000, amazing!

Good luck to all for this last round wether it's overall or a league GF or just for the fun of it.

Trades In: Macrae & Buckley
Heroes: 10 players who scored 114 and above including Gawn (c)
Villains: Danger , Haynes :mad: & Docherty :mad::mad:
Comments: Pulling the trigger on ZWilliams to Haynes last round has effectively cost me 4 PF wins and also means that I'm now stuck with Docherty in my final team...double whammy! The trade felt like the 'sensible' thing to do at the time considering I also had JKelly & Simpkin under concussion clouds but turned out to be a wasted trade in the end, not to mention a costly one at that.

One of my loss was to my very good friend @Ben's Beasts in SCS PL so I'll be in his corner as he prepares his Beasts to take on the all conquering @Bomber18 who has enjoyed a great finish to the season with luxury trades to burn, I love to back in an underdog. Despite those losses, I'm still contending 4 GFs so there's a bit of work left to do for my HORSES until we can call an end to the season. The first wish is for 22 playing, then try and get the best 22 scoring on-field...and whatever happen from there will just be.

Massive congrats to our vast and many coaches at the pointy end which also translate to our leagues dominating the front page of the rankings. You should all be very proud of your efforts in what was undoubtedly a very challenging SC year. The experiences and 'experiments' this season will form the nucleus for many more successful seasons to come. Enjoy the remaining 9 games of your season...!

Comments: Really happy to still be on track for my best season. I may have benefited from BBL style trading as that is a game I usually do OK in, and I have somehow managed to pull it together in a very different kind of year! Getting through to 3 SCS grand finals - P2, 1000 Plus, and Bomber Squad - is icing on the cake. All three grand finals look close and an unfortunate out or low score will tip them either way.

Good luck to everyone playing off in grand finals this year, and well done to everyone who is having a successful year at the very pointy end - great to see so many SCS members in the top 100.

Still can't get Gawn back for the boomerang as don't like any of the options for Doc if I do that.

Good luck all

Comments: What could have been. Tossed up 50/50 for Captain after rolling the dice I could beat Steele's 122. Picked Neale instead of Gawn. Whats 95 pts at the pointy end? - Would only have put me up to 16th overall with one round to go! Oh well.

Happy with the gradual recovery, weekly rank has outstripped overall by 10-15k on average for last 7 rounds. Doc out will hurt this round, with only Perez as emg.

From ranked 77k and 17th in many leagues mid season, have managed to get to at least a few GF's for bottom 8.
