I'm pretty set on 4-0-6 with my 6 being Tyson, Michie, Polec, Ellis, Dunstan, Crouch and McDonald in my backline but i'll laugh if all of Sheed, Beams and Aish are named round 1. If they do, I'm at least a 50% chance to run with a 9 rookie midfield and take out all the risk out of my back and forward lines.

I have the same set-up and rookies as you - and the poll suggests that so too do a few others.
I think we need to be aware that Sheed / Beams and Aish are all likely to be named (at least two of them) but do you think you give up too many points not having more than one premium Mid???

If it wasn't for Beams/Murphy being at the prices they are, i'd feel confident that a combo with Sheed/Beams/Aish (assuming no vesting) would be able to keep up with a mid premo/fwd-def rookie. It's more the job security i'm thinking about here and future cash generation that we probably wont get with our last 3-4 defenders and forwards.
I'm taking from it that we've learnt quite a lot about the rookies in this years pre-season.
Had this poll have been posted in around December/early January I'm almost positive we'd have seen Martin, Kolodjashnij, Aish and Billings making up some of, if not all of the top 3 or so (I would NEVER have guessed Martin would be on 0 votes right now!).
Hopefully we are all able to benefit from the hours of analysis and discussion we've put together to get to this point.

Hey mate - doesnt this increase the risk in your MIDs since the scoring difference between premiums and rookies is greater than in DEFs line? Rookies getting named and playing is all good but they need to score well. Your strategy is interesting because I'm going the exact opposite and loading up on premiums in my MIDs. I'm not saying I'm right on loading up in MIDs - that's just the approach I'm taking this year.

Sydney Swans utility Gary Rohan will be sidelined for up to six weeks after having surgery on his right knee.
"He had a bit of cartilage damage behind his knee cap," club physiotherapist Matt Cameron said.
"We were hoping for that to heal naturally, but it's starting to float around a little bit, so we need to go in and remove it."

Sydney forward Gary Rohan will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg during the Swans' match against North Melbourne.
"It's a real shame for him. He's such an exciting talent and a terrific kid to have around the footy club," Swans coach John Longmire said.
"I'm sure the players will get around him and help him through it and his family is up here (from Cobden in western Victoria), which is good. But it's obviously a blow for us."
The Swans have to see something in him to support him through all this and give him another 3 years. Round 1 #6 pick in 2009. Fingers crossed he plays a full year. Fairytale stuff.
We aren't picking him cos we think he will be pumping out 80's. We're picking him because of the lack of other cheap forwards with reasonable JS. (currently I have him at F7)
