Anyone here not getting in Logue ?

Seeing so many ppl doing it is making me itchy to follow on but I’m at a state where I’m limited to trades 5 before this round Walsh > Sloane/Treloar gives me a complete team with 4 trades for injuries for the year.

If I were to get Logue my trade option would be Hore/Smith to Logue playing (Hore or Smith and Logue as D5 & 6) Walsh to L Parker giving me 146k with 3 trades ?

Is the general consensus now to trade Westhoff? A question to those who still have him... if anyone still has him.

Looking at my team, think its safe to say that I need 2 positions upgraded and not 1 as Westhoff can no longer be regarded as a premium since he basically can't get games.

So sad that we were all hoping for Dixon to come back to free up Westhoff, and when he finally does come back, he completely frees port of westhoff.

Probably my worst mistake of the year bringing him in.

Another question, do you believe in going all in for the best possible team or should we be going for great back up?

Looking for some advice - what's the best option:

Duursma to Rich (or someone around this price range) OR
Hore to Stewart / Ryan

Either Duursma/Hore/ (with support from Logue) would need to cover D6 for the next few weeks (and possibly for the remainder of the season.

Another option is using funds to upgrade Rocky at M8 and leaving Hore & Duursma as D5 & D6.

You consider L Weller from GCS? his scores are quite impressive if I had more trades left I would consider him as my D 5/6 type player,
It’s only been 1 bad score from Hore I understand why people wanting to trade him to a proven prem I’m one to possibly holding him with my current state of trades in hope he bounces back it

As for Rocky if you held him for this long no point trading him now with the possibility of him coming back this week or the next, I was burnt from when I held Mouch to then trading him for him then to return the week after week..

That’s unfortunate to hear about Westhoff, also hearing news he might still be out, if you have the trades I would trade him

As for your question it’s really hard to say, it really depends on how you planned out your trades on picking the playing rookies and kinda knowing when a rookie has bottom out or when it’s a good time to trade or not and also at which price you picked up a premium factors into account on future trades on the sufficient amount to plan ahead for a great back up

Hope this helps! And good luck with your choices for the year

Anyone still have Whitfield?
If so, what are your plans?
Likely to miss another couple at least.
I am thinking of offloading for Logue to generate cash for last mid upgrade and Grundy trade

Thanks @teatai. I think you are correct re Rocky. Part of me just wants to rip the Band Aid straight off and get rid of him as I see more pain coming.

Down to only 6 trades so need to very measured on how I use them from here on out.

Hore being that little more mature I think has a better chance of holding down D6 than Duursma.

Haven't really considered Weller so will take a closer look at him.

Yes, still have him. I think it depends on how many trades you have left. I think its worth holding now, especially if you can bring Logue in through another trade and run him in place of Whitfield for a couple more weeks. Will be a good Pod for the run home.

Depends on a few factors, but in general I think it's more important to get the best possible team on field. That said, if you had the trades to get Westhoff to F7 rather than trading him out, and it meant a Heeney (or whoever) at F6 rather than a Marshall/Daniel type, I would do that I think.

I'm no Port expert though and I note someone did write here recently they expect him not to play for the rest of the season other than a retirement game. That seems wild to me but I haven't been paying a heap of attention over there TBH.

Ok ... so I've been playing around with my tables again with a focus on Defenders today .... nope I don't have the trade answers as everyone has different goals, numbers of trades left, opinions on certain players, upcoming draws etc

But just like to visualise info in this type of "overarching" format and see no harm in sharing.

Some notes:
- I used an 87 ave cut off when selecting players to look at as quite a few have Andrews and then included Smith, Hore and Milera as quite a few also have some of them including myself
- I've also removed some personal formatting to bring it back to the bare bones
- There might be some gremlins as I work out my own BE's (thanks to @THCLT), Ave's etc

Abbreviations used:
- OR (overall average ranking from the selected players)
- 3R and 3 Rnd (3 round ranking / average)
- 5R and 5 Rnd (5 round ranking / average)
- $ PP (current $ cost per point scored)
- MN (Magic Number of my full competition players calculated $ PP ave)
- BE - ave (difference between my calculated BE and the players current average)

Can definitely do trades to get Logue and Heeney in and keep Westhoff at f7. It will limit my ability to upgrade or bring in the higher end elites and I will be forced to play a m/f in the midfield until finals really.

Current Team is:
Lloyd Laird Stewart Sicily Andrews Ellis (Naish Burgess)
Neale Cripps Macrae Fyfe Oliver Coniglio Rockliff Duursma (Stocker, Baker, Clarke)
Gawn Grundy (Bines)
Dangerfield, Kelly, Dunkley, Daniel, Boak, Westhoff (Settlefield Gardner)
5 trades remaining and 117k

My options are:
1. Burgess and Duursma to Logue and Heeney (79k remaining, 3 trades)
- Logue in a d7 and sit Westhoff at f7 and trading away Duursma - having about 79k left. But if westhoff continues to not play then i will be short a player in the midfield or forward and will have to play either Settlefield or Clarke as a starter - and have limited funds to upgrade Westhoff.

2. Duursma to Mouch (17k remaining, 4 trades)
- means i have 17k but have to play settlefield as long as Westhoff continues to miss, and again have on 17k to upgrade Westhoff if he doesn't get picked again.

3. Andrews/Sicily (more inclined to keep Sicily because he's more consistent if played in defence) and Duursma, Logue and Heeney (350k, 3 trades)
- Means I can upgrade Westhoff to Kelly and probably a player to Hurn later on in finals if i'm lucky. Logue will be D6 instead of Andrews - Andrews inconsistency is killing me - and as a KPP it will probably will continue.

4. Andrews and Westhoff to Hind and Heeney (399k, 3 trades)
- Means Duursma sits a D6 until finals and I have the funds for the remaining upgrades, whenever that will happen.

I think all these options have their major cons haha...

Would love some thoughts on what you'd do if you were me.

I know what you mean, after Saturday I'm also taking a serious look at Tom for F7, but it would mean probably foregoing Logue...Justin to Tom at F7 and pocket 30 grand is very tempting.

Macdonald? wow big call - that would be a big move. Does he look like he's turning into his 2018 version?

LOL. Exactly what I have been pondering the past few days AND still not sure what to do?
To keep Westhoff or not to keep him, hmmm.
I'm leaning not to keep him, but not sure which week is best to trade him out.
If I trade Westhoff out this week, it could be to Lycett, BUT will Lycett keep scoring high? (Ryder rucking the problem).

Tossing up whether I should finish my midfield off with Josh Kelly, or punt on a Sloane/Matt Crouch/Treloar type.

May or may not be this week.

Current midfield septet are Cripps, Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Oliver, Bontempelli and Zorko.

Basically looking for the best points over the run home, unless the difference is negligible versus the price benefit.

Hahahahaha ROB to Whitfield the same game Whitfield injured his collarbone is going to be my worst trade of the season by a mile.

Kept him this long, will keep him another couple of weeks as he's probably easily a top 3 defender when he's on the park.
