Really struggling to come up with any trades that can move me up the rankings and separate me from the pack. I am 27th overall at the moment and feel that I might just creep up a few spots and end up 15 to 20th. Great result that I would have taken at the start of the year but when you are within touching distance you really want to go for it.

I have 6 trades and 148K in the bank. I know some people prefer to keep trades a secret but if anyone is basing their trades on what I am doing they are nuts.

Would love for anyone to throw some suggestions at me. I love a POD so will consider anything. Sometimes it is good to get other views to start you thinking in another direction.

I am 99% certain that I am trading Kelly (for the second time this year). Other than that I am open minded

I would trade Darcy Cameron out for RiccardI ( makes 81k) and then do Kelly to Neale.

another trade to consider is Simpkin to Toby Greene knowing GWS has a soft draw.... or even Jeremy Cameron for a left field selection

$1,057,300 to spend on a mid and forward. Currently have Zerrett and Toby Greene pencilled in! Don't need to play safe and I like their ceilings. Any other suggestions?
Titch and Jack Martin, ok maybe Titch. 😁

Edit or GAJ when he plays

Keep seeing posts about the Giants having a easy run , last time I looked Melbourne & St Kilda were both above them and in the 8🤔

Carlton a game behind and Adelaide well the way the Giants can play that could very well be a Crows win.

NN is playing so NN to Gawn is shelved, one option is I go ballistic and do

Stewart > Laird
Daniel > Dawson
Simpkin > Jack Martin

I'd have 20 playing premiums this week, that's if Dawson and Martin are actually premiums.

Means I have two Martin's in the forward line and unsure how much they'll take points off each other.

Usually at this stage of the season I wouldn't bother forking out money for a Neale type and instead look to establish bench cover (eg J Kennedy and J Martin instead) but I am missing all of Oliver, Gawn, Lloyd and Neale and need 1 for the run home.

3 trades left and 1 more will be used to grab Neale as I am currently $51,000 over the cap.
1. Out: M Duncan, In: M Walters/J Martin/C Wingard
or
2. Out; T Rivers, In: Random rookie

If people count the two Smiths and Simpkin as premium, you can count Dawson and Martin. :)

Thanks for all the responses on here. Has been great to see some different ideas.

Was really looking hard at a few Adelaide players (Laird, MCrouch and even Sloane) but now knowing that BCrouch is back in I am starting to think that a team losing every week wont get a heap of points and 2 Crouches, Sloane and Laird will be splitting them. Might be nobody going really big each week (90 to 100 each) or a bit of a raffle as to who goes big out of the 4.

Have ruled out any trades involving the 4 teams playing tomorrow night so have another 48 hours to work through it but at this stage

Kelly, Cripps, Simpkin to Neale, Greene, Brayshaw

Or

Kelly, Cripps, Goldy to Neale, Greene, Lyons

Will depend on Drapers score tomorrow night. If he scores 80 plus I will go with the second option and trade out Goldy

Haha I probably just do Stewart to Haynes. I don't think I get much out of having Jack Martin this week, Dawson could be ok but is risk/reward and Laird would be nice but he's not within reach without those other trades.

Dependent on how Draper goes:
Draper goes poorly-
An option could be:
Out: A McPherson, T Goldstein, D Cameron
In: J Martin, M Gawn and 102,000 rookie

Rivers moves to D7
J Martin can be played at either M8 or F6 this round

Good suggestion. I started to look at trading down Macpherson or Cameron to a rookie but with 6 trades left I didn't want to "waste" a trade on a downgrade for cash. Looking at this it makes a lot of sense and I will now reconsider(y)

Alrightttttt so after *some* thinking I've ended up going around in circles and getting nowhere.

Some possibilities for this round:
Jelly --> JPK (risky considering his injury history but looks good value at that price)
J.Bell --> rookie downgrade (don't know who, will Thompson Dow get picked again?)
B.Close --> rookie downgrade (don't know who! Bailey Williams maybe considering he's been selected again and Allen also back. However JJK still to come back so still might have shaky JS).

Next round (could have about 585k in cash), will have two elimination finals:
Rivers/Bytel --> rookie downgrade
S.Wicks --> Neale back in (hope he drops in price a lot this round)
Schoenberg --> last premo mid upgrade (really want Fyfe or Cripps but probably can't afford them)

Will leave me with 4 trades going into round 17. No idea yet what to do after that or if I can get through the match-ups successfully!

@Ben's Beasts got any suggestions to best utilise my trades? :p:D
I want to stop hassling @Rowsus in his thread for once haha!

If anyone else has any suggestions then it's much appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

Normally I'd agree with bench cover, but with rolling naming of teams is it maybe better to have a little flexibilty, but the main hitters on the park and trade around injuries or outs? We have no visibility over teams later in the round, so its very easy for a supposed donut or late out to ruin plans.......

Having a rubbish season but have made one decent trade...bringing in the Tomahawk 40 minutes before he went coco bananas against Port.
He's now just about perfectly placed for a slingshot: overpriced, on his bye and a pretty high (170-odd) BE, but now after 410 points in three rounds I am feeling kinda attached to the big fella.

Anyway, could go:

Hawkins -> Martin
Hurn -> Saad
Duncan -> Neale (or Goldy to Gawn)

Could hold off a week on Neale and go Duncan-> Oliver instead but it's unlikely I'd find the cash for Neale in a week.

So many options, so many ways to eff it right up.

Anyone with Grundy, Draper and BJ in the rucks? All playing. Richmond's Nyuon D/R makes an interesting link between ruck and defence. Just not sure if there is a huge benefit for trading him in just to get BJ's score to count.

I would try to get to full premium as soon as possible and would also put a real focus on winning those round 16 finals too.

You have so many trades so I would look to trade out your two players with the round 16 bye at the start of that round.

So the three players I would look to trade this round are Thurlow, Bell and Close. I would look to bring in a value defender premium, a value mid premium and a rookie. Perhaps Haynes and JPK? Then rookie wise there’s Dow or Williams who are dirt cheap or could still get one of O’Neill or Mosquito for 150k. Or the ideal one would be Riccardi at 173k. Not sure whether you can fit him in with JPK and Haynes though?

Round 16 I would give some serious thought to trading Dusty, Grundy and rookie to a mid premium, ruck premium and rookie. You have 7 forwards that are good enough to be on field so that’s why I have suggested a mid for Dusty.

Then in round 17 finish off your team with that last premium mid by going one up, one down and using the rest of your cash. There should be a bit of cash there from that rookie downgrade from round 16.

Hope that all makes sense and that you have the cash to pull it off!

Only if you need to free up cash. How much are you expecting him to score? How many are you fielding this week?

My plan for the next 3 weeks with 5 trades left. I'm still going to do NN to Gawn in the belief he either gets rested at some stage or that if he doesn't get a rest he'll be playing reduced game time with a hard final two games.

Round 15: Stewart to Haynes and NicNat to Gawn
Round 17: Draper down to a 102k rookie, one of Wicks/Close/Schoenberg to Hugh Greenwood

leaves me with one other trade.
