Imagine if that was the outcome every time that happens. There'd be players with broken ribs and lung bruising about 100 times a week. Sure he cops a week, but it was stiff that the outcome of an action that is done by players on every side every quarter or every game.
Based on that, we should be fine to assume Tom McDonald gets a week then?

Very lucky considering he put Silvagni in hospital with a broken rib and bruising on the lung.
Always thought it was judged on the action & not the consequence , obviously not.

Just curious did the umpires award a free kick to Silvagni ?

I was also under the impression that at the start of last season they were going to outlaw all these little jumper punches and gut punches , obviously not.

Nope, no free awarded to Silvagni. Seemed quite innocuous live.

I watched the game , just couldn't remember if a free was paid or not.

Very innocuous hit , caught him in the right (wrong) spot.

Interesting then his action wasn't considered illegal by the umpires to award a free , so he gets suspended on the end result.
