Thanks very much folks, very helpful responses!

Nice to confirm these things when you feel you may have tied yourself up in knots ?

Thinking aloud here ...

So we are one game in. Phillips scores 98 against the traditional easy for rucks to score against Nankervis who in turn scored 127 thanks to kicking 3 goals. What could have Kreuzer done?

Does this mean the new rules favour rucks to the extent that Goldy & Gawn will be a ridiculous amount ahead of everyone else, or all rucks will improve and be more tightly bunched? Will rucks who can kick goals be the ones to watch now? Could Bellchambers come from nowhere to be attractive?

I think I am still leaning towards watching Grundy tomorrow night before finalising my ruck structure but could’ve easily swayed!

I'm just glad I'm not the only one still yet to decide on my R2! Lots to think about.

PS Don't pick Bellchambers.

I'd say, that looking at the scores of 2 notorious poor tap Rucks won't help you decide much if anything, about how the new rules affected things. It's best to base it on quality, not "unknown" quantities, with large deviations in their tap work scores.

Personally I wouldn't read much in to one game/two players, I'd rather back the JLT data (where no one seemed to identify much difference, from what I can tell). The opposition and the goals support this view as I see it.

At this stage I am starting with Goldstein & Darcy with Clarke as R3.

I don't envisage that being my final Rucks but I can't justify the spend with too many unknowns.

No doubt will have either Grundy or Gawn or both at some stage but not for R1.
For those playing at home, I chickened out.

Grundy & Gawn for me in the end, with Clarke R3.

I’m going Goldy, English and... Bines or Clarke.

Clarke works for me this week, he plays early in the next few weeks so I’d actually want him to be playing sooner rather than later.

Yesterday's team selections put a significant dent in my Ruck scenario. But as Dolly Parton said, If you want the rainbow you've got to put up with the rain.

I have now come up with an alternative Ruck combination that will have the rest of you begging for mercy. Simple in its concept, ruthless in its effectiveness.

You're going to start Grundy and Gawn, aren't you?

Thinking of going back to Mummy R2 (Hoff rounds 1 & 2).

Need to free up some cash to upgrade some rookies this week and replace my injured D2 next week.

Phillips took some nice grabs last night and was always going to score well. He just might not get to his third game until Round 13.

I'm pretty happy with my ruck structure now. It's quite bulletproof. Will reveal Sunday night.

Clarke or Mummy at R3?

Any news on Sandilands' return?
I was keen on Clarke as a donut to play but have decided on Bines. If R1 or R2 missed a game and Clarke wasn't playing I was stuffed but with Moore in the forward line and a heap of m/f's I can use anyone to fix the problem.

Clarke as things sit now...but may go with Bines

No news on Sandi....like...none, which makes me think we might've seen the last of him, but I have nothing to back up those suspicions...just think it would take a big turn around for him to get playing, let alone playing consistently
