Have a very similar structure myself 13-4-5.

4 weeks to go so hopefully the 5 onfield rookies is a viable starting structure.

Think we have 6 premium players different (I have both Williams & Duggan) so you definitely look stronger in comparison.

Certainly using the cheaper rookies allows the 13 premium side.
The back up to that will be dropping 1 premo to a mid pricer to free up cash if they don’t show up

Most of my pre season I’ve had 12 premos and 5 mid pricers
It allows a few higher end premos that way but I like the safety of 13 keepers. Last year my team was nowhere near this strong at the start. I think this year the value is much better!

Rob only needs to pop for 8 games before he becomes Grundy in my eyes

I currently have $ 30 k up my sleeve.

My 12 rookies are Kelly , Fullarton , Finrae , Rowe + 8 x $ 123,900.00 guys.

If Chugg & Treacy are named of course I will pick them along with any of the $ 117 k guys so once Round 1 teams drop I might be able to move Kelly/Fullarton to a Phillips/Campbell if need be.

Saunders is also $ 102 as a VC/C option as well.

Fullarton eh? Haven't read much about him. Are you thinking he plays early, or just like him as a cheap F/R that might get games?

Read good things about him a few weeks ago somewhere , but Daniher & McStay probably help the Big O out in the ruck.

Just easier to keep him their for his price mainly now , no idea really on what rookie forwards may or not play.

Just find it easier to use higher priced players in case these $ 102 & $ 117k actually don't get selected Round 1.

My problem will be the DPP rookies (if selected) and if I start them on the right or wrong line.

Current team before preseason games, just for reference to see how many changes I make before round 1 :LOL::LOL: :-

Happy with the balance/ setup for the byes is quite decent also.

I was going to resist Duggan but have given in to temptation after all the reports I have read/ vision on tv - looks primed for a midfield role with Yeo out.

Neale is obviously a question mark, much depends on how he looks in the preseason games. The Brisbane medical staff have proven to be the best in the business so backing him at this stage but if there any doubts I will move him in on with his price tag.

Macrae stats when Hunter is in the team + 3 x 120+ consecutive seasons have convinced me to back him at M3 for now.

Had Walsh from the start, backing him in for a big season.

Rowell's games last year just blew me away, hope to see he is 100% in the preseason games.

Heppell's past averages when playing half back are very good, great JS & very encouraging reports about how he looked/played today.

Caldwell I have been big on from the start, one of the best on ground today so backing him in. Too many doubts on the other fwds. The rest of the forward line is the standard bargains & rookies which I think will be popular. Treacy there as the capt loophole.

Thats "Ball's Out" in the forward line!!

Maybe slot a mid/for into your mids in case one of the forward rookies does not fire. EG swap out Macrae for Dunkley

Certainly an option but I still don't trust Bevo in regards to where Dunkley will play, another option is if Neale doesn't look himself in the preseason games I could easily move him on for Danger/Dusty for example.

Like most people the Ruck carnage has tipped my plans upside down. Wouldn't mind a few opinions on the two structures I am considering at the moment. Team A "With Gawn" and Team B "Without Gawn".

Team A easily for me.

Cunnington had one massive SC score but otherwise hasn't been SC relevant scoring wise (great player though) & Rowell looks a young gun (I am a big fan like most) however Gawn is a proven SC gun that has the "golden ticket" in that he scores so ridiculously high in every game & is such a viable capt choice every week/ has a great early draw v teams that he has amazing records against & (along with Grundy) is one of the only 2 proven super premiums on his line.

I highly doubt that any team that doesn't have Gawn in their team by the early part of the season will be in the top echelon of the rankings this year.

I'm not completely satisfied but something like this might work.

I've even been contemplating dropping my 0 over 30 policy to open up Dusty and Danger as options but even if I do, I think Danger is still better as an upgrade target and Dusty is 50/50 either way.

Different reports on Titch too so it's hard to put him in. I've got 0 $102k rookies so it'll be easier to trade down if required. Rowell, Heeney, Docherty and Impey are probably just below extreme mpm risk so hopefully the starting structure is solid enough.

Josh Treacy can potentially replace a rookie on almost any line with DPP shifting; whether he plays or not. Alternatively, he could potentially come in later down the line, perhaps in the same week that Marshall comes in to the side, by which time Flynn would potentially have fattened out.

Isn't Dusty 29? I think he might turn 30 by the end of the season, but you wouldn't be picking a 30 year old.

@stephen

4 onfield rookies with Flynn , would have preferred Gawn to Grundy

D: Laird , Stewart , Docherty , Williams , Duggan + Rookie

M: Merrett , Jelly , Fyfe , Boak , Walsh , Cripps , Heppell + Rookie

R: Grundy , FLYNN / Treacy *

F: Lobb * , Heeney , Ziebell , Daniher , Impey + Rookie

Thought I'd throw my current team/structure up for some discussion:

Happy enough with the structure, but always appreciate any good feedback and thoughts.
Actually nice to see some different names in their :-

Crisp , Sloane , Phillips , Rozee

Personally think Heppell at M6 can be a lot better.

Does Phillips - > Impey get you close to Young - > Cripps ?

Although I gather you picked Phillips for a reason

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Phillips in pre-season. Plus he’s fairly cheap for potential.

$100K short for your suggestion. Gawn takes a big chunk of the cap.

Scared of shadows and can't kick , always just a runner.

Hope it works out for you , can't see him being near the Top 8/10 forwards to be honest.
