Can anybody remember whether you still get SC points for a game that is washed out?

For example, one team is able to bat for 8 overs but then rain hits and the other team doesn’t bat at all meaning there is no result. Are SC points still allocated for the 8 overs that were played?

Yes you do. Last year Game 33 was a washout with Brisbane 2/10 in the second innings and the points counted.

Khawaja now a serious option?
Yes.

Apart from C Morris, seems like the next best Thunder option due to his form in the format across the previous seasons and provides more assurance and consistency in comparison to Sams who is of the Cutting ilk (likely to score 17 than 170).

The Pakistan test series doesn't affect BBL SC but now Khawaja only has one Sheffield shield game 5 days before the first NZ test and Australia's middle order to fail in the Pak series to get back into the test team. If you are going to have Khawaja in your SC team you better start planning because his chances of playing in the BBL are high.
Edit. Now that I think about since Shield games go for 4 days he has 0 first class games to put his case forward before the first test.

Not cheap for a bat only option .... will certainly consider but haven't had a serious look yet ...

Plays against two relatively tame attacks on friendly surfaces for batting (Gabba and Geelong) ✅
Also, no bye throughout the season allowing him to become a core player for our sides whilst the remaining rotate with doubles. Worst case scenario involves a poor performance in RD1 but this provides an avenue to R Khan assuming a DPP is selected in the bowling lineup.
