AUSTRALIA TEST SQUAD

Tim Paine (c), Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Pat Cummins (vc), Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head (vc), Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, James Pattinson, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner

Notable omissions:
Usman Khawaja, Marcus Harris, Peter Siddle
Happy to see Bancroft and especially Burns back, he's been hard done by. Presumably he plays.

Quite surprised to see Khawaja miss the squad altogether, although I've just been reminded that he's 33 next month and only averages 41. Maybe it's time to give a younger batsman a proper run.

For those unaware, @7/11 has been kind enough to share his thoughts and opinions of key players for ALL teams heading into the BBL|09 season, plus his suggestion on the 'must haves' for the season. It's a ripping thread so click on the link below and you won't be disappointed that you did.

Steve Smith has signed for the Sixers. He replaces Nevill in the squad.

Smith will be available towards the back end of the season after he returns from the Aussies ODI tour of India. He is likely to play the last two or three games of the regular season and finals pending the Sixers qualification.

not 100% convinced , but hopefully it will provide a solid start

Khawaja , Lynn , Banton , Hales , Henriques (White , Harris)

Nevill (Philippe)

Curran , Cutting , Sams , Agar , Morris (Paris , Green)

will then need to turn the 6-7 Heat/Thunder players into Scorchers & Strikers.

any more news on DreRuss or Pooran recently ?

Hey guys, how likely Lloyd Pope will make the team across the first 3 rounds?
Would say unlikely at this stage. SOK is easily the number one spinner and the Sixers usually go with pace for the rest of their bowling attack. Pope may play on a spin friendly pitch but it’s hard to see the Sixers making room for him with a likely preferred bowling lineup of SOK, Abbott, Curran, Dwarshius and Bird.
