So next round I can get Zampa for143k, Maxwell for165k and Russell for 168k, saving 42K from the original plan, but somehow I don't like any of them.

Any news on Maxwell injury?
Its a lot of falling knives to catch.
Makes you think about how much it might sacrifice team value. If even two of them spud it up with those breakevens you will be shopping for Scorchers in the bargain bin next round. Im thinking of bringing in NCN (despite the resting risk) + 2 of the above just to mitigate that.

Im actually starting to wonder if the better play isnt just getting Bison and Inglis in for R3, get on some heavy hitters down in Blundstone. Also lets me save my trades in R4 for a swag of Scorchers bowlers. I feel like thats the round to target. The Stars DGW fixture is not kind- tough away game playing the Thunder back in Sydney (watch them get up after tonight’s loss!), and then the home game at the MCG against a Sixers squad getting bowling troops back. Meanwhile Scorchers play the Hurricanes at home but their away game is against the Renegades, who are no doubt improved, but still the preferable road trip.

Stars are too historically successful to just abandon them after 2 rounds, chances are strong that their class players turn their form around and are all now very reasonably priced.

Thankfully none of the Scorchers are at a premium so even with the Stars falling in price, we should pretty much be able to choose who we like from the Scorchers.

Stars , Scorchers & even a Steketee @ $ 153k

So many options

5 Stars + Faridoun for Round 3 could cause me problems Round 4 relying on Finch (surely he plays Round 4) , Hughes & Paris (Boland back , no updates on Meredith)

Never thought I would ever fade Maxwell in a DGR but might have to and roll the dice on the Coulter-Nile roller coaster.

Some very enticing value possibly available in Round 4 as well.

See what thoughts the rest of the day bring and where I am ranked at the end of this round.

Apparently Finch looked very comfortable in the commentators duggout, 😁 maybe this is his live transition from player to special comments?

Might be still celebrating the T20 WC win , alongside a few of his Aussie team mates , and good on them if they are.

Might be safer to use my onfield XI early doors instead of trying to rely on my bench until I can get closer to having 12 premiums (that's a long way down the track)

For those considering minimising their Stars representation next week I would think twice. Maxwell, Russell, Stoinis, Zampa and NCN are all capable of massive scores so I think you'd want at least 3 ideally 4 of them.
It's not so much next round though , it's what happens afterwards that is of equal importance.

They lose too much money that then affects trade options for Round 4 and beyond.

If you plan to hold some on their bye well and good , but if you plan to trade them out in Round 4 , you may not get your desired player(s) in future rounds and leave yourself with compromised picks

It's funny , no matter who we want is determined by $$$ at the end of each round , so we could end up with someone entirely different.

I think there's enough high quality Scorchers options available at a mid range price point for that not to be an immediate concern. Agar Marsh, Inglis and Tye would probably be near your top 5 choices regardless of price.

Correct

What about those of us that already will own those 4 already ahead of Round 4 are are now ready to pounce on a few fallen premiums 😉

I guess at the end of the day it all comes down to available $$$ and how/who you trade each round.

Lots of different options available each and every round

Just hope Jhye is not realeased.
