602/6 Maxy 11Si

Maxy (C), Cartright, Ahmed, Clarke and Ur Rahman left to play.

If Maxy does not go 40-50+, Ur Rahman it is for (C).

Made a mistake yesterday (and was really angry with myself 😡), in the rush to get trades sorted out I traded Lynn by mistake over Wade 🤪.

Result was I had to start Gilkes or Nielson and there was no way I was starting Nielson 😁.

6/469. C on Abbott (VC Maxwell). Generally pretty good. Able to get Siddle's points as the E which was good, only really Billings, and so far Maxwell and Cartwright disappointing. Hopefully they can make up for it in the second game.

Like everyone else, with 20/20 hindsight trading out Gilkes was a mistake, but at the time was a logical move. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.

6/499

Played: A Agar, A Tye, R Khan, D Sams, M Renshaw and P Siddle
Yet to play: S Abbott and A Finch/C Lynn (via Wade loop)
DGW: J Clarke (new recruit), G Maxwell (VC) and H Raul (new recruit)

Very solid start with Maxwell the only player to score under 40. Traded Gilkes a few rounds ago and instead kept Nielsen to fund other moves but great to see a fantastic innings. After the 106 from Mujeeb last round, he has now earned a rest on the bench to bank the score from Siddle. Will need to rectify the no dual position bowler problem eventually but at this stage, it is currently causing no problems.

Sorry once again but I would like to give a very big thank you to @KLo30 , @Ironhawk , @squid and @The Banker for taking the time and the decision to quickly throw together a side on such short notice to join @tso and myself for either the next few days or the remainder of the tournament. Although a few of our selections have not delivered as expected and suffered a shock early exit, hopefully they were able to witness the below live this morning and have now become a fan of the sport, if for some unknown reason ;) they were not already.

Numerous coaches will be disappointed and annoyed with their start to the SC BBL season considering the time and effort put in but it is a necessary reminder of how fickle fantasy sports are and the difficulty to consistently achieve deep runs, as well as being on the right side of those 50-50 decisions more often than not. As myself and countless others can attest to, the most fun that can be had is to participate in the free fantasy competitions in which you have no or little interest or knowledge, nor get to watch any action throughout the season, no expectations as well as no pre or misconceived notions or attitudes towards certain players. You will be pleasantly surprised how successful your strategies can be.
@squid and @Ironhawk both currently ranked in the top 10 for Australian participants with the final to go after this semi final.

Wrong player won for my chances in fantasy, but still a very good match.

What are Maxy VCers doing? By taking Maxy I end up having to take Wells’ 20, I can’t have another look as my switch option is Finch.

Thinking Finch and Abbott C over Wells and Maxwell.
Keep an eye on the weather but I'd probably take a punt on Abbott C and hoping Finch can smash the undermanned stars.
