Due to some fairly significant changes to the 2023 competition, I have decided to start a new thread for this year.
This competition is suited for a wide range of people, from die hard cycling fans to casual fans with minimal knowledge, or even people who know nothing at all about the sport and want to learn - everyone is welcome. You can participate with minimal time commitment, and as scoring is only based on your best results, a few bad events don't count against you. You can sign up at any time - our winner last season missed the first four events, so any time is a good time to enter.
This competition is for men's professional cycling only. This is not a sexist thing, there was not enough interest in also including women's races when asked last year.
I am more than happy for anyone, participant or not to post anything here about cycling, even about stuff not covered by the events covered - it's the most logical topic to do so on these forums.
As mentioned, there are a few changes from 2023 (the 2023 topic can be found here), the main ones are as follows:
The ranking events that will be held in 2024 are as follows:
As mentioned, there will also be four bonus (non-ranking) events this year. These are:
The leaderboard will be based on points from your best 10 ranking event points for the year. Points will not roll over to/from other seasons, but will reset at the end of each season. You will still be entered on the leaderboard if you do not enter at least 10 events, however the more events you enter will increase your chances to rank higher.

As mentioned, there are a few changes from 2023 (the 2023 topic can be found here), the main ones are as follows:
- A much shorter event calendar (17 events plus 4 bonus events which will not be ranked).
- Leaderboard now being based on your points from your best 10 events rather than best 12.
- Restrictions on selection of favourites in many events. Selections were near identical in many races last season and this should change things up a bit. It will make selecting a winner so much more satisfying.
- Improved result tracking. Every entrant will have a handy dashboard to help track past results.
- An achievement system. Get good results and participate in events to unlock achievements throughout the season. See if you can collect all 32! Specific details of how to earn each achievement will not be revealed until someone obtains each one, however it's likely you'll be able to figure out quite a few of them easily.
- The opportunity to compete for a nation of your choice. Not literally, but this will show up in your dashboard and will affect a couple of non-ranking events.
- All entries are to be submitted to me via PM rather than posted here. I will post my selections here prior to each race for openness, however any selections made in this topic by others will not be entered into the competition.

As mentioned, there will also be four bonus (non-ranking) events this year. These are:
- National Championships Road Race and Individual Time Trial. The date for this event will vary depending on which country you choose to represent. The first nation to hold these in 2024 I believe will be Australia, which will be held in the first week of January (this is why I have had to create the topic so early, despite the first ranking events being held in March).
- Olympic Games Road Race and Individual Time Trial. These will be held in late July / early August in between the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana.
