Most teams are now named for Milano-Sanremo, which will be held tomorrow night. Easy to overlook with all the other events on.

My picks:
W Van Aert
M Mohoric
B Girmay

It's a race where sprinters such as Ewan can survive, and be right up there in the results, but also suits one day specialists historically. Definitely a wide open race with a lot of potential winners. There's multiple riders I really want to select that I think could win, but just can't fit in.

Probably should be a bit more conservative and just pick the three favourites with double points on offer, but that's not how I like to do things. :)

Thanks for the entry. As this is a one day race, you only need to select 3 riders. Which did you want to drop out?
@Woosie, if you don't reply by the start of the race, I'll drop out Mohoric, and include the first three riders you have named.

Just to let everyone know, this will be the practice for all future races where people select too many riders as well. If people happen to not select enough riders, I will enter their partial team as an entry if not corrected, but it's just costing you points by doing this.

The race is now underway. Good luck to everyone. Only 2 days until the next race on the calendar - more on that when I post the results, but feel free to get your entries in whenever.

Milano-Sanremo results:

I mentioned I'd probably be better off sticking to the three favourites, but was hoping the difference would be less than around 1000 points difference. This was not the race to take big risks, and those who went for the favourites took advantage, but it wasn't exactly raced as normal - it's rare that there is a solo winner, and it was the fastest speed ever for the event. Van Der Poel was too good as mentioned.

Leaderboard after 8 events:

A change at the top after I have my worst best rider result (6 winners and a second place previously in the first 7 events, only a third place here). Multiple changes throughout the standings too.

Upcoming:

The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya kicks off TOMORROW, this is a week long event so you will pick 4 riders. The Classic Brugge-De Panne is on Tuesday, E3 Saxo Classic on Thursday and Gent-Wevelgem on next Saturday. All three of these will be picking 3 riders only as they are one day races.

My tips:
Volta: This race is seriously stacked in terms of GC options. Have fun picking. R Evenepoel, P Roglic, J Almeida, C Strong.
BDP: Flat race, pick sprinters and hope for the best. J Philipsen, F Jakobsen, O Kooij
Saxo: Interesting race this one, pretty similar contenders to MSR as a rolling course, but with cobbles. M Van Der Poel, W Van Aert, T Pogacar
G-W: Will pick closer to the race commencing, start list not finalised yet.

You are a marvel @Ironhawk, how do you find the time to run all these comps? I am retired and do not have that much "free" time.

Enjoying it helps. I figure if it is something I would enjoy participating in, others will too, so I find the time. Definitely better than not having anything to do.

There's not too much work involved in some of these, but I will admit I don't get a lot of free time for other stuff right now. Once I get the MPM spreadsheet fully fixed and the initial groups for the P&R ladder comp in place this week, it will cut the workload down a bit.

The fact I "work" from home half the week for now has probably helped too. :)
