Hi Everyone!
I’ve seen in the Supercoach 2024 Early Planning thread that many coaches are already drafting up their teams. Would anyone be willing to offer me some tips on how to approach this myself? I honestly have never planned too much before and I have usually constructed a team much closer to the start of the season without any principles other than ‘How can I fit in more players with a good previous season average?’
I would really appreciate any advice that anyone would be willing to offer me.

Step 1 - decide on your Ruck strategy. Given you only get 2 on field, and many people burn 4+ trades on this line each year, getting your Ruck strategy right is a real boost.

Step 2 - pick your 2-3 Captain options, without dithering on price. Having the right C options early is vital.

Step 3 - fill in 2-4 players on each line you might be interested in.

Step 4 - wait until we know where the Rookies are going to be, because after steps 1 & 2, Rookies are the most important thing to get right!

When you do make a trade (or reverse trades), go back over your C, VC & E's to make sure they are still what you want.. nothing worse than it reverting to the week before and potentially stuffing up loopholes, captain scores.

For that matter, log back in and check any changes have gone through properly..
