I did warn you not to look...lol

Edit: Just thank your lucky stars the Goldminers kept Guptill only as emergency bat.
If he was in the eleven you surely would be looking at biggest thrashing in World Cup Premier League history..rofl
(it was previously 582 points thrashing of Leopards)
p.s. the lowest total of any team was 344 by you guys in a game. That is in danger too.

Not much past first ten overs of Windies innings.
Boult already has 4 wickets for Pioneers but Gayle also has seven sixes for Goldminers.
Some records are going to go here...lol

That's it folks.
A decisive win in final by Ballarat Goldminers seals them the World Cup Premier League Championship title.
Just too good in the end as a franchise. Seems like they had most bases covered throughout tournament with various players playing their part to help them win the championship in very worthy fashion. For the Pioneers thankfully ex-Bushranger Trent Boult saved them from further embarassment of avoiding the lowest team score in the whole tournament and did not lose by biggest margin. Still a big thrashing to deal with and not a pretty end to journey for them. Great job to make the final and be the runners up.
Shakib Al Hasan gets to hold up the cup with team coach Erich.
Well done guys. You clearly the best franchise in it and done yourselves proud.

Ballarat Goldminers Grand Final XI (911 final score)
1. Shikhar Dhawan – BAT (40)

Thank you Oz for a great appetiser to the footy season.
Well done to Goldminers for being the best team throughout this competition.

It has been an excellent month of WCCPL and thank you to all the teams that participated to make this tournament a successful one.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks Oz for running this comp. Absolutely loved it.
Hopefully we can play it again some time, I think I should be taken further! As in an all out fantasy cricket auction game. Haha

Cheers guys.
Not even sure logistically how to do even another cricket auction game. The world cup with so many players in it just seemed the only ideal time to try such a thing. Well over 100 players in pool and we could kind of know the teams would not chop and change in a big way like they do in BBL type stuff.
BBL fixtures almost a nightmare for such a thing and one day series rarely have more than 2 or 3 international sides playing around same time.
Might give it some thought for next summer. Maybe every South African, Australian and New Zealand cricket seasons we do something based around all 3 nations playing whatever one day cricket and Tests they do. Will think about it more during winter some time. They all tend to host a Boxing Day Test now so guess it is possible to have 5 or 6 nations in one dayers or Tests in those times of year.

hear hear, was great fun Oz. very well organised and the auctions are bloody fun!

we will probably be a bit burnt out with WC finishing up and SC starting, but IPL starts on April 8 and features some of the world's best cricket players (and double the international players that feature in the BBL)

if at least 6-8 of us keen, I'd be happy to run an IPL league in conjuction with Oz or just assist him on the side... whatever is desired

I can assure you mate I would be burnt out for that...lol..
If you run one I may play but I probably will find it hard mid season to keep up with playing ORFF, FDL and SC and even AFL Fantasy too if can find some time to do homework for that too.
IPL I imagine is bloody hard to find info on for teams.
I think it would be tough to do it justice. You also running SCPL too. I honestly doubt either of us would have time. The WC game just fitted in nicely between real footy season and doing FDL draft. 6 franchises just worked in nicely with the pool of players we could pick from and 17 man squads seemed perfect. I was really happy with line-ups as all teams basically looked realistic type of cricket teams. If tried to make it 8 franchises would not have worked as then pool too thin or have to go with less than 17 man squads or could not play each other once like we did before semi-finals.
Real balancing act to get right format and world cup might be only time such a good format can work for auctions. Not confident could pull of the same type of thing with most other cricket tournaments.
It was great fun but saw it mostly as a one off when I was organizing it.
