Yep. I'm confused. Definitely not getting Humphrey. That boat had long gone.

Slightly interested in dale with jj gone. Now or never. Bad bye and high risk.

Fleeton looks not terrible as a rookie, but I looked at byes and saw clusters of the same colours.

Oliver fluctuates from leg fallen off to just a scratch.

Oliver to merrett? Merrett easy draw but gets tagged?

Need cash flow but need to cull carp rookies for byes and keep decent rooks. This one is confusing.

Borderline dpp changes. Gawn and Walsh.

Just do nothing and be patient!?

Keeping Oliver over here, will have Weddle as cover via some DPP magic.

Esava > McAndrew
Simpson > Steele

Stokedddddd to be able to afford this with $200 spare.

14 trades with Ashcroft, Humphrey and Mitchell the rookies left on-field.
You must be quite strong in rd12 to be trading Esava out? Only reason I’m asking is because I’m the complete opposite!

Looking like I'll have exactly 18, so nope not great!

Finding it hard to pass up the midfield upgrade, Simpson > Steele looks too appealing.

I’m looking at potentially trading out Oliver after wanting to hold him originally. Means I can grab Stewart and Jeremy Cameron with Ginbey the other out.

If I couldn’t do those two trades which bolsters next rounds point scoring , I probably would consider no trading and doing 4 trades next round (which is still on the cards if any more Oliver updates come round).

Would I be able to get some advice on Bailey Humphrey, please? Is he still worth bringing in for cash generation? It looks like he will likely make around $50K this week even with a score of 60, and I imagine at least $10 - $20K the week after. Is he a better cash generating opportunity for non-owners than any current bubble rookies?

I was very much on the fence last round about getting him and got nudged over by the fact he will probably play the bye round.

If you are looking at him as a cash cow from his current price point, you’d either want to be in a very good position trades/cash wise, or be looking at Humphries as a longer term cash cow as he could easily have 1-2 average games the next 2-3 rounds and stall completely (or god forbid, go backwards).

There’s quite a lot of variables to weigh up:
- Who are the other viable downgrade targets this week, and how/when will they score?
- What could you do with the cash differential between Humphrey and a cheaper downgrade target in the next few rounds?
- How do you think Humphrey will score in the next few rounds?

So there’s no right or wrong answer per se, but the answer is dependent on your team situation, your plans for future trading, and your opinion of Humphrey’s future scoring.

Is there any merit to moving Bont on?
Can use for bye rebalance, he's priced at 140's (ish), can revert to 115-odd output, can grab a Neale/Laird type on the cheap and use the differential elsewhere
Understand it's risky, the question is:
Is it not just risky, but boneheaded?

Don't really have a choice in holding Clarry or not, my dwindling trades have made the choice for me. Going early on Wardlaw to cover Oliver as my bench coverage over all lines is weak to say the least, will also bring in Fleeton for T Young and will be relying on his 40 in R12 because I'll just be fielding the bare 18.

T Young > Fleeton
Roberts > Wardlaw

I had contemplated doing the same thing with Clarry when he was priced at 698k after R6 and a high BE, couldn't justify it then, probably had bigger issues to deal with.

Here is my mess :-

Screen Shot 2023-05-23 at 3.54.17 pm.png

Cash:12,000

Bye situation is quite good overall at least.

Main issues - Oliver injured, Anderson BE 201 (liked him as a POD/perfect bye but form has dropped) & Simpson high BE now/could be dropped after a poor game.

Not much cash gen going on with the bench rookies lol

Considering going a moneyball approach :-

Leaving me like this :-

Screen Shot 2023-05-23 at 4.20.06 pm.png

Merrett,JDG, JHF all have low BEs & nice draws coming up.

Resigned myself to not being able to get to proper full premium through injuries/some poor starting picks so guys like De Goey/JHF/Rowell as quasi premiums will have to suffice to get the rookies off the ground - doing this would leave 3 rookies to upgrade (Sheezel a keeper for me)

Thoughts & any other ideas welcome (y)

Yes it does get a rookie off field, but at the cost of two meh picks. If you are low on trades and need to keep quasi premium Anderson will probably out score all of them with the perfect bye, BE mean little if you aren’t trading.

You know your team and plans better than anyone so it could work. I would keep it simple Oliver (if you think more than two weeks) to Merritt/Neale (look at byes) and Simpson to Wardlaw yes early but only an injury will keep him out. See if the money helps this week if not spend next week with known DPP.
