For those who plan to trade out Oliver, based on some comments I read, Oliver $658,700 to Butters $620,700 seems like a good side trade.

.........King and Hoyne explain why Zak Butters is the next Gary Ablett Jr........
........ young gun Zak Butters has officially arrived as one of the AFL’s best..........
..........Hinkley ....... describing the 22-year-old as a "pretty special" player........"A tough, brave little prick, who takes big moments and turns them into something special."..........

Keen to get some advice. I'm 4/5 upgrades away from a complete team, 16 trades left. Had a great week last week and keen to keep the momentum going. Bench is shocking - is it worth using the last boost to clean that up? Bit lost. View attachment 57451
You don’t say why you need to do a boost. Yes, I would be targeting some rookies whether weddle or bailey this week or wardlaw and ford next week.

Cowan could go, hold cincotta for now would be something to consider.

All revolves around your Oliver plan, if you're hoping to hold you'll want stronger rookies IMO. I'd be looking to go early on Wardlaw in this situation.

Yep, gut says to hold Cincotta and get rid of Cowan. I reckon I have to trade Oliver and hope that he's out for a while... maybe Cowan and Oliver to Butters and Weddle... unsure though. Real make or break week I feel.

Instagram footy page not a valid source.
Source? All I have heard is indefinite time frames.
Ok so ive heard Oliver is confirmed out for a month

That’s a big statement considering all other sources don’t have any definite timeframe, who did you hear that from may I ask?
Source was one of Instagrams footy pages

Usually is somewhat trustworthy, honestly i havent looked too far into Oliver to see if that was the only time frame or so, so i just assumed it was 4

I own both. I wonder how they can play out the match and be out for that long. All my leagues play across the byes. Despite my best planning the way my opposition structured up just didn't look great for my byes anyway. E.g. my only non Stewart owner was Rnd 13...etc. I was about 5 or more players short against my collective opponents for my leagues.

I'm also in the dreaded position of owning Mr -200 BE Anderson. He was top of my sell list before I knew about Jelly, and still after it after I heard about Oliver.

Perhaps the extra trades will serve us well in the long run, and we might own some pretty good pods going into the final stretch for our league matches.

I'm also sitting mid tier on my leagues so it will hurt the ranking a bit as well. I'm also really well set for Rnd 12, with only 2 premiums out. Hoping its 2 weeks out personally.

Tricky times...
I'm actually now considering Kelly to Humphrey. Short term cover, good bye and if he manages to continue his scoring run he makes an upgrade back to Kelly pretty easy in a few weeks time.
Oliver feels like he might be back sooner - whereas Kelly might have a slower return. This move still allows me to upgrade Simpson to Sinclair.
And I would prefer Bailey on field this week over going early on Wardlaw or grabbing Fleeton on bubble.

I do know it means having to factor in another upgrade, but it should be a much easier one with Humphrey going to be close to $430k in the next 4-5 weeks.

That would be the upper end of the scale. He would need to score two really solid tons and a 75 to get close to that. If you are trying to do a rough draft budget I would be conservative and peg him at around $380-400k post round 14.

Was hoping more of my rookies would be in so I could potentially cover Oliver for this week but instead I need to trade to avoid a donut so doing Oliver>Zerrett. Will look at Simpson> Wardlaw and Ashcroft> premium mid next week.

Any suggestions to deal with the below? Did not consider byes this season due to prioritising fixing the failed mid pricers and rookie selections, etc and thus not overly bothered about the spread for the coming bye rounds. Preferably would like to keep Oliver given he was not a starting selection.

Simpson > Humphrey (285K/ BE -53) - in great form with back to back 100's, should cover for Oliver decently/ DP so can cover 2 lines.

I missed Weddle but personally dont think paying 230K is playing the percentages, one bad score in the next 3 he maxes out at 300K and really just ends up a waste of a trade, Port at AO and a Brisbane side flying pre bye wouldn't fill me with much confidence in the scoring capacity through the byes being worth it either.
What alternative selections @Shaunpro1 do you suggest as an alternative that can help with strong job security and scoring potential?
whilst I agree $230k wouldn’t be the move for a standard rookie, Weddle has extremely strong job security, going to make significant cash and can be relied upon during byes…. Due to such a low breakeven he still represents value in my opinion…
