Thinking ahead - does anyone think it is worth sacrificing a DGR this week to ensure that I will have 5 good DGR players next week without boosting?

Thinking of trading Valentine instead of McCarron. Valentine is currently riding the bench anyways due to my team structure.
would leave next week McCarron, Travers, Hukporti onfield with Creek and someone like Clark potentially coming in.

Already used 1 boost. Ideally not looking to use a boost until after Cairns come off a bye.
When considering players playing multiple matches in other formats, I like to consider whether I would be content fielding them outside of a double or if worst case struck with injuries elsewhere, then potentially stuck with them for a few rounds longer than planned. This mindset helps to avoid excessively loading up although does often mean good opportunities may be missed. Say for example Player X suffers an injury, Player Y’s breakeven soars and thus his cash generating potential dries up and Player A and/or Player Z have finished their nice fixture run and intended to be traded this round. Who do you deal with first?

As @Lost In The Sky mentioned, not fielding a full onfield setup of doubles will not be catastrophic and there are bound to be players on a single that get close to or exceed their performance and opportunities will present to claw back any points lost from the pack throughout the season. For example, Adelaide enter a run of 1,1,1,1,2,1,1,1 after RD4 so the time for their assets has nearly ended and we could get away with disregarding their players next round.

In the end it comes down to whether you are confident that McCarron can take advantage of his double more than Valentine and that the cash cannot be put to a greater points or cash gen use.

Been tossing up on lots of trade combinations throughout the last few days and I'm not fully convinced, but this appears to be the best option.
Creek, Cook, Ayre > Cummings, Robinson, Delly. 10k ITB. The Cook situation has been annoying as I would like to keep him, but with Williams back in training, I find it hard to see him playing both games in the round 4 double. Will line up with this:

Going with Robinson as captain. Planning on doing Robinson, Valentine > PJC, Wiley for round 4. Very unlikely but if Valentine and Robinson rise enough and Creek falls enough, I may be able to go for Creek over Wiley.

Thanks for all the advice everyone.

At this stage, I think it still makes more sense to trade Valentine to Robinson and Baynes > Olbrich.

This leaves me an avenue to get Creek next week pretty easily.

I’m okay with carrying McCarron on bench this week and have him on field next week.

McCarron isn’t a flashy player but he’s good for 15-20 a game with the occasional upside game into the 30s. Also has a lowish BE so not really going to shift down much in price.

Sobey and Dellavedova updated to Robinson and Doyle and much prefer the look of this setup.

No change to this setup. Looking forward to next round, I will not be using a boost since I am now two down. McVeigh and Valentine are on the chopping block with Jackson-Cartwright and Wiley under consideration if funds permit. Creek will also be considered if there is a cash generator I am missing.

Robinson v Dellavedova? I can still get to 5 on field DGRs next round without boosting if I take Robinson, so that feels like the move. However, I don’t watch games so have no idea really! :ROFLMAO:
