Woohoo!!

Living dangerously with 4 riders left. Got to hope that Thomas has a bad day, and O'Connor can get up into 2nd place.
I wouldn't mind O'Connor 2nd, as long as Thomas stays 3rd. It would be a great result to see an Aussie rider to finish on the podium again. We are all assuming Pogacar doesn't completely collapse of course and stays top.

Even if 'The Pog' collapsed he'd still win. He'd just do a Chris Froome and run...

Cyclists seem softer these days. They have decided to cut the stage back tonight due to bad weather and have taken out the first climb and descent completely. I do understand it, with the way health and safety is now, and you don't want to see anyone get hurt, but it is still disappointing. Grand tours are meant to be challenging, and a bit of cold and snow never hurt anyone. Even a couple of years back it would have been ride on.

Haven't seen any live shots, if the roads are icy etc, it is fair enough to reduce it, but I still think they are cutting out too many sections of stages without good reason in the last year or so, should be a last resort, not just because it's cold.

Expecting this gives a breakaway rider a better chance at the stage win now. Depends who gets into the break though if they get given enough of a lead to win.

Disagree strongly. Pro cyclists die during races every couple of years, more should be done for their safety. Yeah watching them do superhuman stuff through snow is awesome but it's not worth them racing down a snowy mountain with frostbite and no visibility.

I expected some/all to disagree, and that's fine. I've found most pro cyclists are not stupid and will ride appropriately to the conditions, and if they are not good conditions, will slow down appropriately. I did say if it is clearly unsafe conditions, you can't make them ride, but the photos I had seen just looked like it was very wet and cold. Not fun, but just means you don't push too hard in that weather, especially downhill, unless you want to crash. Icy / very poor visibility is different, and you clearly can't ride in that.

Anyway, hopefully there's no weather effect on the rest of the stages.

Maybe they should ride through snow avalanches, like when Bernal won the TDF in 19' 🤣 That will toughen them up!

From what I saw, at the start it was wet and cold, but at the top of the first mountain it was snowing (and cold)... so presumably icy roads / poor visibility issues there.

Knew that stage would be the end of any chance for top spot for me. I can't finish ahead of Dravid no matter what results happen over the last 3 stages now.

I may get a chance to find some time to post some results a bit later on, as I am working from home today, but still extremely busy. I expect tso's results should be fairly close, if not exact though. Thanks for keeping everyone updated.

No worries. I will do the next two and leave the final update with bonus points to you.

Dravid romping home now.
Will leave the final update to Ironhawk.
Merlier winning the final stage means those results are pretty close to the final standings. I'll update points / results in a few days time when I get back home.

Reminder that the Dauphine starts this weekend, which continues a near continuous run of events - Dauphine, Suisse, Euro Nationals (for half of you), Tour de France and Olympics are all pretty much back to back.
