Timed that trade well for T De Koning (earlier this month) as my keeper league ruck to push B Williams (WC) to the bench as I was not confident that I could rely on Hayes with poor coverage in the likes of Strachan and Begg.

As for classic, solid from Walsh, Butters (VC) and Houston (debuted last round) but a bit lazy on my behalf of defaulting to a Thursday night VC rather than handing it to the Bont.

6-0 without Pit now. We need to persist. Evidently a better side without him, as good of a ruckman as he is
Loving this mix at Carlton right now, bit of a different look for a few players with more of our best defence back. Best game Cincotta has played for us by a distance, and this new forward role for Williams is working great.

Yeah, and this too. Love Pittonet and was a great pickup at the time but doesn't fit the current style for us.
You might be forced to play him now with TDK seemingly picking up an arm injury.

McKay great last 3 quarters. Still seems to not be getting the rub of the green from the umpires though. Would’ve had at least a couple more kicks on goal had he received routine frees (and a clear mark in kicking range).

Should be an even 3/300 if the scores remain the same.

That’s part of the new interpretation.. if an arm is free you have to try and dispose of the ball. If you have had no prior it doesn’t matter if you make a legitimate disposal, but you have to make an attempt.
He had 2 hanging off him, 1 arm pinned, it just goes against the usual thought processes, to just drop the ball.
Will have to look and get my head around this new rule or interpretation!
I thought I heard it was to stop the extended holding on to a player in a tackle that umpires allowed in the hope for the ball to come out?

Walsh 111 :)
Houston 98
Curnow 81 :(

Not ideal but will happily take it after all were in the 36-38 range at HT. Walsh gets enough of the ball but he doesn’t do himself any favours with his disposal. Has been a slightly frustrating own, hasn’t gone above 120 in the 6 weeks I’ve owned him, but also hasn’t had any mares. Has periods during games where he goes nuts so I can see a spike game on the horizon. Houston 4 below 100 in his last 5. Was basically nowhere to be seen excluding the third quarter. Curnow hasn’t been pushing up as far these last couple weeks. Probably should’ve figured that with Pittonet out. Struggling to get his hands on the ball. Lowest disposal count of the year tonight.

Daicos VC, Bont, Dale, Sullivan, and Freijah tomorrow night.

Wrong De Koning ;)

Hopefully landing hard on that arm at the end was just a stinger.

Yeah I think that’s how it was originally reported but I think the overall interpretation is designed to avoid repeat stoppages as much as possible without making it too hard for the player contesting the ball. Basically if you have no prior you won’t get pinged if you make an attempt quickly.. but delay it or no attempt and they’ll sting you. But if the ball is locked in, don’t stuff around and just ball it up.

There was a good article on the foxsports site that helped me get my head around it all:

Well that was a nice finish by the Blues,
4/411 Walsh vc didn't quite work out in SC but taken in RDT.
Others to play Big H scaled down to 99, Mead and Georgiades, finally my spuds have a decent game, which works out well in best 18 week.

Very helpful thanks mate👍
Second last tackle shown is exactly as the tackle on Walsh.
So, just drop the ball make attempt to kick the ball, whether you do or not doesn’t matter, it’ll be play on!
Only if both arms are pinned would it be a ball up.
I don’t see enough of that sort of content to keep up with the changing face of the game!
