I've pulled the trigger and moved Green on. I fully expect a 130ish performance but im interested in everyone’s thoughts who have held onto him. Is the potential to get back to premo numbers expected or hoped? Hes getting enough disposals, but just not delivering scores!
Accumulates enough of the ball but a poor user by foot, handballs too much and doesn’t contribute enough in other categories on a consistent basis relative to some of the other premier midfielders. Was a late in for me in the preseason as I wanted a few premiums with the early byes as it looked like an opportunity to exploit coaches that seemed to be overexposing themselves to NM, Port and Freo because of their favourable byes but in doing so had to overpay for a player I would have preferred to pick up at a cheaper price.

Worked well until RD8 and not in a position to trade him so will hold for the remainder of the season but depends on your trade situation. As @FlatTrackBully also alluded to, high confidence options to be worth the cash spent may be limited for a points advantage over the remainder of the season. Remember that if you trade in a player they are not averaging 110,115 or 120+, they are averaging 0. The past is done and the only scores that are important are from now until the end of the season.

This stage of the season, you see coaches fixated on having all of the top 6, etc in each position or a perfect side but scores from RD1 to RD14 do not matter anymore and perfection is unattainable. A lean patch could always be around the corner and highly unlikely all players will fire at once, so expectations either need to be realistic or tempered, otherwise every round a new player will find themselves on the chopping block to be improved, until there are no more players to be traded. The key is deciding who to hold and who to let go if you have the luxury.

Thoughts on McKay rest of season? Could get him or McKercher. Seems to have a great fixture home as outlined above and swing Sexton into DEF.

Alternatively can do any sub 425k FWD. Whoever I bring in will likely have to stay ROS with limited trades.
His average has been steadily dropping since the start but if you think he can maintain somewhere around 90 or more he might be worth going with.
What does ROS mean?

I need to trade out the me of Steele, Dawson or Green to facilitate my finals trades.

(I brought Gulden in after his bye and have been carrying an extra midfielder for the past few weeks).

Suggestions on which one to cut?

I think I'd keep Dawson, despite role concerns he has been scoring mostly fine. Injury game where they were smashed is explainable and the game against the swans he was going fine until they got blown apart at the end.

Green vs Steele is tough, on first thoughts I'd say keep Steele but Green does have an extra game and that score could be the tipping point towards holding Green instead. The other relevant factor is price, and who you can get in at their relative price points. Steele at $535k is much more likely to be turned into a good premium than Green at $456k who will require a fair bit of capital.

So overall I would probably say trade Steele.

Struggling with the mental arithmetic required to work out how to manage trades over these next two rounds without stumping myself.

Had planned to bring in Worner and Zerrett this week for Sullivan and Steele, so that I can get 18 on field, but this leaves me with 3 rookies in defense (Worner, Reid and Blight) and 5 trades remaining. Knowning that I'd like to bring in Schoenmaker next round, I'm struggling to see how I can make this work - i.e. Round 16 would have me with 4 rookies in DEF, and no real downgrade target given Reid and Blight are still at their base value.

I'm sure there's a way to swing DPP's around (Dawson, Fisher, Daicos or Sexton) but I can't see how to do this without burning trades.

The other option would be to not trade Worner and bring in another rookie for Sullivan based on team annoucements, or just save the trade altogether, deal with 17 on field this week.

Ranked in the 1,200's so still trying to play for points instead of league, but this feels like make or break.

Any advice? Current team prior to trades is:

Worner, Reid, and Blight are all single position def only guys so you'll be in strife if you grab Worner for Sullivan. It's a little sidwaysy but I would probably do Reid to Schoenmaker instead as he shapes as better bench cover than Worner and avoids you being forced to field a def rookie. Or commit to Sexton as the D7/F7 swing alongside Dawson and pass on both def rookies.
One thing I find helpful at this stage of the byes is to put all my players in the right spot and make sure my team works - it can help guide trade plans if you realise the current thinking boxes you into a corner or strands players on in the wrong spot.

Also one last thing, you can move your DPPs around as long as you have a couple of trades left without burning them, as you can do the "trade loophole" of trading a player out, moving all your DPPs, trading in a random player, and then trading the random player back to the original one.

I am in the same situation due to trading in Day for the byes. I am trading out Steele. Both Green and Dawson seem to have a higher ceiling this season.

Anyone looking for trading advice can you please post cash you have left in your bank to help assist you.

Hard to work a plan in the background without knowing information upfront.
Good luck with that. :ROFLMAO:

Spent many a seasons across all formats asking for remaining trades, remaining boosts and remaining salary to be included but have not made much headway.

(y) Definitely a struggle.

The information upfront is most important to allow people with free time at different stages of the week to assist.
Those that could have may not be able to revisit it at a later time.

I totally concur with your statement.
In order to get the most constructive feedback from our members, information such as trades left, cash ITB, league/overall focus, etc. are important considerations which needs to be accounted for when composing a reply. Obviously, the decision of whether to disclose is up to the individual but the more information you can provide, the more pertinent the responses will be for your unique team and situation.

To give an example, I'll use my team and situation to highlight this point.

10 Trades (no boost) & $93,700 ITB
League focussed

Maximum of 18 available prior to trades.
Weighing up the pros & cons of a 23rd keeper vs best possible 22
Targetting the likes of Daicos Ryan Gawn Heeney Zorko to improve best 22

Moyle down to Dowling is one trade
Moore to Gawn is an option
Moore & Greene to Heeney & Zorko is another option

Also considering doing just the 2 trades of Dawson & Moore to Heeney & Zorko to maximise on my numbers for the round.

All of my important league match ups have Gawn Heeney Zorko so it's really a matter of who I feel will hurt me the least for this round.
With GCS being the last match of the round, I don't have the luxury of seeing Clohesy/Graham scores before deciding if I need a 19th/20th scorer for the round. The status of my 3 rookies when teams are announced tomorrow will more than likely dictate whether I go the 3 trades option. Also can wait after the first game to see how my McKay & Cameron matches up against Stewart/Homes/Walsh before committing to any of my trades.

Lots to ponder personally and would be interested to see other's opinion on how best to approach this upcoming round.

Any trade/ help advice would be appreciated.. Currently have 16 playing this week, 17 if Mckercher plays which is doubtful, need to get rid of powell before he losses to much and some other spuds.
I have 13 trades and 79K bank

In your position & the amount of cash you have to spend, I would be doing the following :-

Moyle > Dowling
Moore > Heeney
Greene > Zorko

Heeney & Zorko are the 2 highest ranked fwds currently & will be top 6 this season

Gawn & Ryan are so highly priced that I feel it would effect the overall balance of your team if you try to get them in this week.

You are in a bit of pickle with so many missing this round with just 16 probably.

I wouldn't be taking Worner - think his JS is poor, may even get dropped this week.

Personally I would looking at moving Moore & Steele on for Merrett & either Caldwell (has DP) or Curnow this week to get you 18 players.

Any chance Dawson picks up forward DPP for Round 18?
How is DPP given? Is it 35% of game time since the last DPP update, or since the start of the season. Also, where do they get the positional game time stats from?

From watching all three games I would guess for Dawson
Haw: played fwd with the foot injury, 50% fwd time
Rich: played mid while resting fwd, 15% fwd time
Syd: split half half to shake the tag, 50% fwd time

With bedford and berry to come, I can see him spending some time fwd and pumping out that 80-110 score. If it is Is it 35% of game time since the last DPP update, surely that is a lock for DPP, but I cannot seem to find that written anywhere. If it is 35% season long theres no chance and i'd almost comtemplate trading.
