McKercher hasn't been the ideal hold but I've gone this far now that I may as well hold for another 1-2 weeks.

Have the bare 18 without him this week and would only be bench cover next week so I'll just hold.

Locking in Sullivan and Harrison for Curnow and Brown. This gives me 17 "premiums" playing plus Brown.

This gets me down to 5 trades and depending on how the weekend plays out may consider going Steele to Rowell before the last game.

Will do this trade if I've had no injuries that require covering next week and my 18th score is looking to be a low one.

Basically if Brown is the sub then it is likely I pull the trade and take Rowell for the run home.

Need some advice - have 17 before trades this week, by my count. Here's how my team looks heading into the rest of the season.

To me, Frejiah and Sullivan to a rookie and Zorko makes sense - but I'm sure I'm missing a trick... View attachment 74386
Ended up going with Sullivan and Frejiah to K.Brown and Zorko to give me 19 for the week. Also gives me 166k in the bank. Team is technically complete, with 8 trades left, but I'm desperate to get Fyfe to the bench. I'm not sure where I'm going to generate cash for that from, though... will probably be a Jones to Schoenmakers and Clark to Curnow trade next week, if BEs allow for it.

Thinking Sullivan and Freijah to Walsh and K Brown. Just short of being able to afford Merrett instead of Walsh, so hopefully can put up similar numbers for my last mid spot. Considered Rozee instead to keep money for Sexton to Rankine next week, but don't think I can trust Rozee after last week.

Steele's CBA numbers fell off a cliff last week, but seemed to be shared around the team rather than given directly to another player with Dow and Windhager (the two other consistent CBA mids) not seeing a significant % spike:

At first I thought this could be because he's carrying an injury and was resting off ground or elsewhere but TOG is quite healthy, and even more interestingly his heatmap is much the same as rest of season:

I was strongly considering slingshotting Steele this round but I think based on the above his score wasn't really driven by his low CBA and is more than likely just a down game. With trades getting more and more limited I have other priorities so will hold, but hopefully the above is interesting/useful to someone.

He was getting tagged quite heavily by Berry and so he was moved forward to try and slow Zorko down (doubly whammy for those that own both!). Not sure that'll be an every week thing though so I wouldn't trade him off the back of that 1 game - if it becomes a consistent thing that's a different story though!

A high scoring match with 35 goals kicked (centre bounce occurs when a quarter starts or after a goal is kicked) may have contributed as well since the STK game plan doesn’t seem conducive to high scoring footy and this may have been a means to limit rotations by switching players around, etc. Multiple goals may have coincided with rests on the interchange bench.

He attended 3 CBA in Q3 and 0 in QTR 4. In AFL app, CBA is available in advanced stats for each match and thus a qtr by qtr breakdown.

Going with the following trades
1718932932114.png
Leaves me with 5 trades left and the following team.
Would love to get Rankine but with trades being tight might have to juggle Hollands, Revelle & Freijah through the F6 spot.
Reid to Schoenmaker after his 2nd game is a possibility to help with DEF options if he looks likely to stay.

Ended up doing:
Freijah > Brown
Sexton > Curnow
Steele > Merrett

First is a cash grab and my eighteenth on the park this round. The red legs haven't made a debutant sub yet, so the form line is good.
Sexton has done his job, but I don't like what I'm seeing with other players returning, so I'm adding Curnow as Carlton has a good run for forwards from here. Already have McKay, so this could be a wild ride. :D
Steele to Merrett is a little sideways, but I think Merrett will outscore him from here, especially when you factor in Steele's bye in.

9 trades left, likely Schoenmakers in next week as my back line is a rookie wasteland.

Thinking of doing the same, but leaves me with only 4 trades .

Pondering Dawson vs Steele though, and can't decide.

Dawson seems to have the higher ceiling but super inconsisent, however plays Port and Sydney in Rounds 23 and 24 which he historically scores well against (just not this year...)

Steele by comparison has been far more consistent aside from some down weeks these past two rounds. Plays Richmond, Geelong and Carlton in the run home - he scored 142, 119 against the Tigers and Cats respectively this year, and has a career average of 107.8 in 9 games against Carlton.

Classic case of over thinking it!

I'm passing on Zorko, the combination of character issues and bringing in a 35 year old with that injury history scares me away from him. I don't have the trades to have another injury prone player in the team with McGovern and Fisher also in it. Mostly though, its because he's a peanut.

The time of season to go with injury faults is probably at the start of it, not when we have few trades left.
Just no Fwds though..??

Looking like Sullivan and Freijah to Kynan Brown and either Zorko or Jackson as a 23rd premium.
Even if Brown isn't scoring or long-term prospect he is cheap and creates a dpp swing set (where Fisher/Sexton can then cover def and Heeney/Flanders can cover mids).
Zorko is the obvious premium scorer that I'm missing in the forward line but Jackson would provide better ruck cover than Kreuger.

Sullivan, Freijah, and McAuliffe >> Heeney, Brown, and Brain/Gruzewski/Hutchinson

Full team with little cash ITB, except Sexton, but with 1-2 game rookies on bench, no cash generation too trade Sexton, so either have to hold Sexton and hope Powell doesn't interfere with his game, or maybe trade Sexton and a higher priced premium for two mid price premium's.

Looks like I didn't save enough pennies this season... :(

Mcentee, Jordan, Berry, Cinnicotta to come.

As armchair quarterback I'd be definitely sending the first two to sinclair/NWM and the last two would be a toss up between sinclair and steele.

Only leaves Marvel once in the next 9 games so he's probably worth keeping at this stage. If ross decides hes now a high half forward for the rest of the year then its another story.

Keen to get everyone's thoughts on my two options or alternatives
Option one preserves some cash keeping Fyfe & Sullivan Vs brining in Zerrett and not much cash left (My team below).

25.3k in the bank
15 trades
Op 1 - Brown> Shumi
Powell > Fisher
Op 2 Brown> Shumi
Fyfe > Merrett via Mannagh
Sullivan> DEF/MID loop
Powell > Fisher

I need 2 mid rookies, one this week, one in 1-3 weeks. Do I go for sinn now knowing that brown is still 100k for another 2 weeks, or do I grab brown blind, and wait for another mid rookie to emerge (cleary).
I have no idea on either of their job security, but my instinct is brown based off the fact sin has been dropped once already, the faster cash growth in sinn is completely irrelevant since they won't be cashed in, and his scores a meh, so I'm open to taking a punt on brown in hope knowing that this week is really the only one I might need his score

Is any Touk holders punting him? I've got 600k and a full mid. However the last 3 are green, Miller and Oliver. I also want to gamble with treloar. To do that I need to sideways one of those. Could wait a week to see but Miller stands to lose the most value.

I’ve got Miller, Walsh, Green and Laird throwing rubbish around. Not sure where to start.,
