I just had a look on how many trades we get in EPL... 38 RD and we get 44 including 6 booths.... wowwww Trigger happy Coaches will struggle rather sooner than later... 1 trade per week max is my guess is the best advice, right?
I would actually argue the contrary. Exploit those playing too conservatively early on to maximise cash gen and put a buffer between yourself and the pack, in terms of points. They will eventually claw back the gap later on but by then it may be too late in terms of points and there is a greater margin of error if they make the wrong trade decisions. Served me well in the past for next to knowledge or interest in the game to get a leg up on those that have a greater understanding of the sport.

No barriers to entry and small monetary prizes on offer so less of an incentive to play conservatively. Small entrant pool a bonus and it seems a fair portion do not comprehend the Sportsdeck game and differences to FPL, since some assets best suited to FPL have far too high ownership in Sportsdeck, etc

Use a boost in RD3 to chase the largest negative breakevens missed in your side along with a premium correctional trade (if required) but emphasis largely on the cash gen. Use a boost again early if necessary or if structural exchangeable required. Cut your losses rather than holding onto the sunk cost.

The key is finding the balance between maximization and over excessiveness. Pair that with managing to nicely time the periods to jump on or off assets due to fixture. Try to avoid forcing a player with unappealing fixtures unless they have a negative breakeven and scope to earn a few million. If purchasing, identify your exit plan if it starts to go pear shaped to ensure you can sell before the dip and losing all the value.

Haaland is one of the players most likely to fall in price throughout the season due to his high price. The key is to gain cash, so players like Hall, ESR, and Minteh are high on coaches lists due to their gains in prices. Haaland is too hard to ignore though due to his scoring potential.

More cash you have, the more premiums you will be able to buy later on. Like @Ironhawk said trade hard early on, but don't over-do it. Make sure you have some trades left for injuries/strategy later on.
Thxs Ead I shall go hard early as most suggested that is the best way to approach it BoL to your session (y)(y)

Sitting in Fiji at the moment, at 12:40am after a few drinks. Got a conference for next few days, but will enjoy it while I can.

FPL - 67 Rank 1,950,328
RDT - 128 Rank 360

Well done to all the decent scores in both comps. Early days though for those of us who didn't do so well.
Want to swap jobs? ;)

Guarantee I'll never be getting a trip overseas with mine. Lucky.

So can someone explain the break even and Price increases for me...
Based on Haaland is probably the best example for me to understand it
Currently priced @ 12.4m with a score of 9 his BE gone up to 16 so if he scores say 15 will his price drop by 400k
and if he scores 17 it would increases by 400k
Formulas for pricing & BE calculations can be daunting for the unlearned, however, no need to fear as I'm here to help.
From GW2 onwards, you'll see a 'Player points vs Price change' table as part of my GW roundup which will contain the information you're after. This table will only be for the top % ownership players but I'm happy to provide other players of interest when requested so feel free to post your request at the appropriate time.

Good to have the EPL back! Hectic couple of weeks in the lead up, so minimal tinkering and am reasonably happy with squads in both formats.

Team name - NSD

RDT - 135 (Salah) Murphy stiff to be subbed early due to NEW red card. No trades needed, however no one to loop Haaland with, so if he goes huge against IPS might need to reconsider!

FPL - 67 (Haaland) - 1.9 mil overall, but means nothing this early. Barco may be an issue and still had Turner as second GK.

Good luck all for the EPL season :)

So I traded out Maatens from Aston Villa who scored 4 last week for Martinez from Man U for cash generation... 2 more trades that possibly should be done are Rodriguez and Nkunku to gain more cash but is it necessary or hold

No worries and to add to that, trading in RD2 I find is somewhat frowned upon and should be proceeded with caution since the RD1 score is only in the price cycle for one round (affects 1 price change) and thus is of least importance. Too reactionary to RD1 could result in a poor decision being made if a player struggles to back the RD1 score up and thus is best to limit this to very cheap players (eg 3.5 to 4 mil) to reduce the potential risk.

Structural changes and/or low confidence picks in the mid range price level could be dealt with in RD2 if you foresee that a boost is not enough to fix potential problems or to grab the key cash generators in RD3.

Not trading after the first round, that’s a first for me in RDT

Was tempted to go Davis to Martinez

For those that took the Barco punt, it looks as if he imay be off to Seville on loan.
Got Barco in FPL, so going to wait another week, and use the 2 trades to get rid of him for a 4.5 defender and maybe trade Pickford down to a 4.5 GK

Couple of other players I have in my team on my watch list that need to perform this week or they could be traded

The history of the Official Fantasy League game:
https://fantasyleague.com/about

In the old days, we had to make transfers by post! And then you could do them by calling a premium phone line. They had pre-recorded messages from Bobby Robson and Graham Taylor, and they spoke very slowly, so it took a while until you could enter the player codes.

As you know, my focus has always been on the overall competition rather than the leagues, even though I’m not eligible for the prizes. It’s the banter that makes our league work, and it's one of the reasons why I wouldn’t remove anyone just because they weren’t a good player. There's also a sense of loyalty after being in the same league for so long. It’s good that there are choices, and at least I know I’m not encroaching on your leagues.

By the way, the old Starting11 (yourfantasyfootnall) forum seems to be struggling.
Ah, 'post'. I remember that. It's from the Jurassic Age, when Pterodactyls delivered stone tablets with etchings.

Yes, Starting 11 started to wain once Yahoo pulled their fantasy game. We were never big FPL players.
We had two Starting 11 DT Leagues, kinda Prem and Championship with promotion and relegation.
We still play a game we call, 'The Arena', using FPL, so everyone has some contact still. But no banter like the 'good 'ol days'.
Nothing lasts forever. That's the reality of life.
