Can't complain at all so far (except for Zampa I guess), dodged Allen and Harper. Faded M Short but might need do everything I can to get him in with Allen out. Looping Connolly and Richardson off the bench and have Konstas and Edwards filling the other bench spots. If I had Sutho instead of Webster I'd be laughing. Hopefully my Renegades step up for game 2.

Overton excellent. M Short a big letdown at his price. He should have bowled the 19th over. Rolled the dice on Thornton over Zampa, hopefully that ends up being a win but we’ll see.

Konstas amazing score but annoying that he’s stuck on the bench without the E (like many).

Game 1: 2/472; JRicho, Curran (v will take), Connolly (e will take), Stoinis, Webster, McKenzie.
Game 2: 1/298; Chief, Seifert, Edwards, Rogers, Zampa (excluded), Shaw (🍩)
Game 3: 1/99; Overton, Thornton (bench), Allen (bench)

8 DGRs including C still to come.

Allen injury disappointing however getting 379 from my 4 on field DGRs is fantastic.

Considering my captain choice, things are looking ok. Only real dampener on tonight was Allen getting injured. Didn’t hurt my score, just hurts that I’ll have to trade him out next round. Prefer not to use a boost, but won’t be the end of the world if I do.

Good night with Overton and Konstas on bench.

Should be 3/753. Have just realised, I made a real rookie mistake with no E on Seifert. Did do it in the lead up to the first game, so don't know how it came off, but should hve checked (n)

So have had to make some changes with my bowling loop as C now, and Alsop coming on field for Doran

If I remember correctly you suggested that Sams might be a good option despite the bad draw. I think you got that right.
Only because 2-3 seasons ago you mentioned him 1 million times 😀

Need to work out how soon I can get in Ferguson

So someone just mentioned the boosts, do people have a plan for when to use them? Would seem to make sense to me to use over these first few trade periods where the majority of the DGR’s are occurring. Later in the season there is plenty of time to prepare.
Edit: After rounds 2 & 3 makes sense to maximise DGRS

Sutherland 99
Edwards 75
Rogers 39
Zampa 8

Sutherland awesome. Role doesn’t look great, didn’t bowl until the 12th, but he made the most of it. May get better on a more pace friendly pitch? Edwards a near perfect role. Will be interesting to see how they replace Hughes. I’m expecting Patterson to slot into number 3 and Edwards to go back to 6, but hoping Edwards stays at 3 obviously. Rogers respectable. Zampa with his typical BBL return. Most own him luckily.

With Buckingham not playing I have gone up to Renshaw via Fabian Allen, and downgraded Short to Overton. 77k spare gives me some flexibility and able to get up to Short next round if necessary.

Overton, Peirson, Curran C, Stoinis, McKenzie, Sutherland, Rogers, and Zampa to come. One of McKenzie, Zampa or Peirson likely to be the 12th highest score it appears.
5/851 12SI

Overton 99

Great role and performance for Overton. Batted 6, bowled a surge over, and bowled the last over.

Unfortunately I’d stashed Allen away for next round who more than likely needs to be traded. And on top of that, it enhances M.Short’s role in the side (who up until the injury I was planning on fading) being the only off spinner now. Arguably already got a wicket due to the injury today. Will have to re-assess the Short situation now.

Peirson and the 6 Gades/Stars to come with one to drop out.

Yeah, after rounds 2 & 3 for me too. Don’t like using one after this round as you are trading out Stars and Renegades who have doubles again in rounds 3 & 4 respectively. Trading Scorchers after round 2 and Sixers/Heat after round 3 maximises DGR players as they do not have any more doubles to come.

Could also use them before the Hurricanes and Thunder doubles, but the upside is limited as you have less options to trade into. Should already have 6 players for both doubles with 2 trade periods leading into each.

After my stuff up with not putting an E on Seifert, who would you pick for on field in place of Doran?

Alsop, Piierson, or McDermott. Leaning to one of the two Heat players due to their Dbl ahead.

I'd probably lean Peirson, especially if he opens the batting.

Alsop I haven't watched much of but I'd expect he comes in at 4, probably won't take the gloves either.

McDermott doesn't have the fixture and hasn't been playing the best cricket recently.

Like most years, I seem to be chasing the pack already, and my team doesn't seem all that bad. Except for some of the Melbourne players anyway...

Allen injury will mean I need to change my strategy for the upcoming rounds, things were looking promising to make up some of the lost ground next round until then, but that will mean one less DGR score.

2/645 Curran (12 SI)

Seifert, (Harper E)
Webster, Curran VC, Stoinis, (Connolly E)
Hosein C, Rogers, Milne, Zampa, McKenzie, (Richardson E)
O'Neill

Landed on Hosein as my playing loop, don't overly like it as it pretty much locks me out from having any chance of bringing Short in next week though. I would've gone Johnson but got scared off from the toe injury, would be terrible if he didn't make it to the double, was rested for one of the games or the injury flared up again.

Was a pretty ordinary night for my team other than Seifert. Annoying Sutherland had to have a moon game even with an ordinary role but is what it is. I'll never understand why Zampa is continuously bowled in the surge, thought that was over after moving from the Stars. I'm also a bit worried O'Neill doesn't make it to the second game, can see Sandhu coming in for him as a bit of a like-for-like.
3/736 Curran (12 SI), Zampa dropping out.

Missed the game tonight but saw the Allen injury, absolutely devastated for him not just because he's on my bench but I was really excited to watch him this year. It's been mentioned above already but first reaction is Matt Short's role instantly improves now, will have to see if/who and how soon they get a replacement but almost seems I'll have to squeeze him in. Allen also played a massive role in my decision to fade Short, particularly annoying as he's quite low owned.
