Quite impressed by this post and then spending 2-3 hours going through Round 4 to 6 trade options.

Finally came up with a answer and then Short is out anyway.

My team needs some divine intervention so why have one Pope when I can have 2 😀

Walter - > Lloyd the Pope
Peirson - > Ollie the Pope

Now please 🙏 Weatherald you have a reprieve , make the most of it.

And Mr Boyce can you please 🙏 get some wickets this round

Boyce , Overton (C) , L Pope , O Pope , Thornton , Weatherald

Turner (E)

Resisting the urge to go Lynn or D Short

That went well after 1 game (Lloyd 0 & Ollie 1)

6 Strikers for 114
Turner 63

Onwards to tomorrow (next year)

2/380 (Overton)

Great stuff from Dorff who was reversed back into the team due to the M Short news. Connolly really solid too.

Strikers simply disastrous. Captain Overton just shocking. Should have just locked in the Rogers VC. Switched M Short to L Pope for exactly the same result with zero points. Thornton was decent enough and should have had a 3fa if his teammates could catch.

Need a HUGE turnaround from my Strikers in their next match of the round.

1/277 (Overton) from 10 SI

I thought last night was a bad night... tonight was definitely a bad one if you don't have either of Doggett/Dorf. Connolly score very awkward to bring a donut in. Have taken if for now assuming one of Edwards/Shaw misses. Overton saved his worst for when we all needed him. Anyone who took Roger's VC last night is laughing.

Went into the round with 10 planned DGRs. Down to 8 now with Short out and Scott with a big fat donut who I was able to bench.

Hopefully that was all the bad luck gone for the year.

Happy New Year all and enjoy the celebrations whilst remaining safe!

Rogers 66
Zampa 43
Sutherland VC 42
Bethell 2

Rogers and Zampa okay with 1 wicket each, but the junk runs from the former were very handy. Sutherland also with 1, not taking the VC obviously. Not the way I expected Bethell to get out . A little disappointed he didn’t get a bowl on that pitch, think the Gades missed a trick there.

5 Strikers in play tomorrow.
0/208 Overton 9SI

Thornton 47
Overton C 3x2
Lynn 1
O.Pope 1

Thornton okay. From there though it was horrific. Overton, Lynn, and Pope combined for 8… including the captaincy points! Fair to say the 3 DGR PODs I took into the round being Bethell, Lynn, and O.Pope have failed miserably. 4 points from 3 players. Have had a fair bit of luck throughout the first 3 rounds so it was just a matter of time for things to even out a tad. Still another game for them to turn things around.

1/280 - Overton.

Very happy with Doggett given he’d been one of my worst moves to date. Unlucky to not score more too!
Connolly good for a SGR, just a shame he couldn’t burgle a wicket in the last over.

Some very average DGR scores in Bethel 2, Pope 1, Scott 0 and Weatherald 18, however I did set up some loops so I have some X v Y decisions:

Weatherald (18 + 1 game) vs Banton
Scott (0 + 1 game) vs Stoinis.

Currently leaning towards Banton and Stoinis but will sleep on it.

Also for those despairing the Overton C, he is the C for ~80% of the top 5% and ~85% of the top 1%. So it’s a missed chance to get a jump on the pack but isn’t completely disastrous!
