Need to bench one of Owen, Philippe, Dwarshuis, Walter and Stoinis. Think it probably has to be Owen due to having the worst role of the lot, but he did score a century last time he played at Ninja stadium

What are we thinking, trade in Patterson or Murphy from the Sixers, assuming both selected?
The 'ol bowler vs batter conundrum for some cash release/generation.
Leaning towards Murphy but Patterson looked good and has been in fine form?

Yes I reckon it's between Owen and Walter although Stoinis could really struggle against the Heat...Walter has been pretty underwhelming to be honest but against the Stars, well maybe they get his season going.
Dilemma alright, not an easy choice, good luck.

Does anyone have a view on who best to trade out?

Below shows my team with Curran, as well as Banton and Harper (who I am comfortable exiting), traded out.

I could look to loop Connolly’s score on via Shaw if he is omitted, but that means bringing Harper back in. He could go next round, his looping draw is poor and he isn’t fieldable straight up. It also means trading someone else out (more on that below).

Alternately I could bring Curran back in and use him as a known donut, but it probably means trading out Edwards (returning from injury, but otherwise attractive) or Walter (good role, but poor scoring so far, and maybe some risk from Neser returning?). He is out for at least two, so would presumably go next round anyway.

Stoinis is another option to trade out (to help keep Edwards/Walter), but he has averaged c. 55 when bowling, and I suspect if Webster gets a Test callup Stoinis likely will bowl.

47.5k cash, so I have flex in that regard.

I think you’ve made the right trade outs for this round. I’m not sure if Edwards viability moving forward as he could return down the batting order a little and if Kerr holds his spot the overs could shift. I still think he’s worth a hold though until we know his role is impacted, as if he bats high-ish and keeps 3+ overs the role is still gold.

Walter hasn’t been great but I think you can back him in to get close enough to Connolly that you can avoid breaking your plans. You might lose 20-30 points this week but overall I think you’re set up well for subsequent rounds. Moving Harper on is a win, Banton is no loss (albeit I’m fielding him this week so hope I’m wrong) and Curran is done. No guarantee Edwards or Walter are good, but they have more potential/upside then the ones you’ve moved on.

@Darkie I think I would leave it as it is, for now, monitor Edwards, not sure of his injury status.

If Edwards is still out, use him to loop Connelly on field.

If Edwards is back and you want to get Connelly, trade maybe trade Edwards to Curran (as long as you are happy carrying him this week)

Otherwise, your trade outs look good 👍

Does KP lose his spot though when Smudge is available ?

Order will get reshuffled.

Sixers next 3 games are today , Friday then Jan 9 (Smudge available 🤔)

Although Vince probably leaves around that time in any case.

Be interesting to see how many of the test players back up for the BBL, especially with the Sri Lanka tour coming up and talk of a camp before hand.

They're normally a little more flexible with the bats, but for the guys who've played 5 tests, wouldn't be surprised to see a few enforced restings.

Scheduled to fly out on the 19.

Anyone who has bowled probably will get managed.

Carey , Khawaja (if selected for Sri Lanka) , Konstas , Smudge probably will be OK.

Labuschagne most likely.

Don't think they cleared Head last time.

Who knows what is happening with Bison

Goat might be right.

Not sure if the white ball specialists will fly out the same time or not , pointless really as the ODI is Feb 13.

Wonder how soon after the Sydney Test they announce the Squads

Surely we will take multiple spinners so not sure how many quicks we will need.

Don't think captain Pat has confirmed whether he is going or not yet , not that he would play BBL.

If they stick with Bison for Sydney then they probably just use Webster as the spare bat otherwise :-

Connolly - played last night
Handscomb - no BBL contract
Hardie (?) - played last night
McSweeney - playing today
Patterson - playing today
Renshaw - playing today

Disregarding Bancroft & Harris

get Hunt around the Squad for the experience

not sure who else

you would think though if they are going to add someone else they would have announced it by now

Sliding doors might work out alright.

Working hospo, pretty busy yesterday, read post in the carpark that Short is in doubt.

Manage a sneaky look at my phone around seven and see the red circle next to his name, in a rush trade him back out for O Pope.

Don't get to look at my phone again until about 8-30 and find in my earlier rush didn't hit "confirm trade" so didn't happen.

Now read he might be playing next game, fingers crossed for a somewhat fortuitous win.

Have to sneak a look at my phone before four this afternoon to check on Edwards status now.

1/320 w 10 SI’s - JFM (32 avg per SI)

This includes Finn Allen last night, without him would looking even worse, would just top it off if M Short did play the second round taking Allen off my score and then scored poorly because he’s injured 😂

With a bit of fiddling i could have the E on Moises and then choose one of Pierson or Harper to replace his score if he fails, or just not fiddle and have Stoinis on the ground and hope for the best. Suggestions anyone ? Either Stoinis or Best of the other 3

Peirson dropped.

Probably just go Stoinis who will hopefully bowl with no Webster.

Peirson didn't make the squad FYI. So you can E Henriques and if he fails, play Stoinis. If If Henrqiues does well, Peirson comes into play as your donut.

Thanks guys, didn't know about Pierson being dropped. Makes the question redundant now.
