Thoughts on these options?

Team:
B: McVeigh, Hanley, Simpson, Birchall, Hurn, Swallow (Bews, Hunt)
M: Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, StevieJ, Dal Santo, Beams, Liberatore, Cotchin (O'Brien, Acres)
R: Goldstein, Sandilands (Smith, King)
F: Dangerfield, Harvey, Martin, Franklin, Zorko, Pavlich (Ambrose, Cameron)

5 trades, 40k

Option A
Out: Gaz, Sandi
In: JPK, Jacobs
Keeps extra trade, no added cover but removes a couple of negative PODs.

Option B
This week -
Out: Gaz, Sandi
In: Murphy (maybe)Jack/Swallow/Griffen/Lids/Swan, Minson/Ryder

Next week: Acres to Sammy Mitchell.
Uses one extra trade, adds cover but creates further negative PODs.

Option C
Out: Gaz
In: JPK

Wait for final teams for Freo game and if Sandi is a late out, trade him to Ryder. I should have about a 5-8 minute window. Leaves me with 4 trades and 130k give or take.
Have added Option C. Thoughts?

Do I bring in Parker now?

Only have 4 trades.

Option 1 - Ablett to Parker then wait for L.Taylor to increase a little more and then swing back fwd via Shenton and get best available mid next week at around
550K. (Smartin then F7) and Shenton (M9 but dpp)

Option 2 - Ablett to JPK/Sloane/Barlow with Smartin F6 and hold 3 trades.

Option 3 - Ablett to SJ and Taylor to Parker this week (leaving only two trades)

Leaning towards option 1 but any suggestions?

cheers Slammer

Ablett to Fyfe, Mcgovern to HOneychurch this week.

Or

Ablett to JPK, Litherland to Smitchell next week.

Is there a consensus on Honeychurch's job security?
I very much prefer option A.
Because I beleive Fyfe will av 130 from here on out. Admittedly a risk with Lyon but Freo's precarious situation for top 2, the R18 bye and a tough run home leaves me quietly confident.
I beleive McGovern has well and truely peaked, but depending on the number of trades you have, not necessary. Unless you want to use the money for upgrades soon. The Shenton/ Honey swing should be useful also.

I don't prefer option B
JPK had his worst game of the year (SC wise). I know doesn't matter in the scheme of things but who knows. Doubt he'll be able to match Fyfe anyway.
I beleive you defence bench cover is strong enough Litherland/Laidler is well capable of giving you a 60. But it does rid you of Enright all the same. However I'm not completely sold on Mitchell ATM. He wasn't destroying it before his injury and the fact is Hawthorn are struggling and he is coming of a 12 week injury. Also Mitchell faces Crowley and Mcaffer in his 3rd last and final match for the year. He copped ok against a Crowley tag earlier in the year scoring 44 to half time before being allowed to roam free.
Finally and most importantly Mitchell is an overrated ****** who runs like he's got a stick up his arse.

You're in a bit of a predicament with Shenton/Taylor/Martin and even Litherland making plenty of cash but the unfortunate thing is you're running low on trades. Otherwise, you could build a monster of a team with that much cash on your bench.

I'd be looking to get Boomer into my forward line instead of bringing in Parker (who'd effectively be a 7th fwd) and then bring in two pure midfielders. Can't quite figure out how much you'd have to spend though but with that set up you'll still have great M/R/F cover and more points on ground assuming both midfielders you bring in average more than Parker.

I'd go option 2....Just
3 trades for 6 more weeks is risky enough in my books but 2!!! I wouldn't think Parker is a must must have. He's certainly worth the $ to bring him in now if you have the trades but you don't. The fact Parker has seen a dramatic increase in scoring since Hanneberrys absence is no coincidence. Nevertheless his recent form will cement him a more permenant spot in the midfeild even when he does return. I think you'd gain more points by picking off and sidewaysing an injured player and avoiding a zero.
In all honesty L Taylor is quite useful ATM with his swing ability and could easily score another handy score this week with Rocky out.

A or C simply because I'm not sold on S Mitchell. He'll be value but In my "expert" opinion I don't think he will average too much above 90.
Probebly A simply because you could be picking up 10 ppg from now on anyway with the Sandi--> Jacobs by the looks of things.

Should have added, 7 trades and 25k left.

Im happy to get Mcgovern to honeychurch but dont want honeychurch omitted and then I have no bench cover with CCameron. Happy to harvest mcgovern but who to if not honeychurch?

Is it worth trading out Swan now? Have the opportunity to upgrade to Hanley at his low BE and start making links with defence, or hold on Swan and upgrade Enright to him instead. Do you fellas reckon he'll bounce back?

I don't normally post my team looking for feedback but I'm in a bit of a pickle this week and looking for some thoughts.

TEAM IS:

Def: D.Swallow, Mcveigh, Enright, Hurn, L.McDonald, Hibberd (Cutler, Bews)
Mid: GAJ, Pendles, Selwood, Libba, Beams, Fyfe, Griffen, Swan (O'Brien, H'Church)
Ruc: Sandi, Goldstein (Currie, King)
Fwd: Danger, Martin, Zorko, Buddy, Roughy, Pav (McGovern, Spina)

5 trades left & 20K remaining.

This is what I am thinking:

- Trading Cutler to Jaensch to avoid the donut then when I click to trade out Gazza I have 521K left. I'm thinking of bringing in K.Jack as I just can't trust Stevie J with minimal trades and minimal back-up. Was considering Duncan for a real POD but I think Jack can start churning out some more tons like I know he can.

Then, next week I will have 3 trades and next to no cash, where I plan to:

- Downgrade McGovern to ______ (rookie TBA - preferably someone playing) and then McDonald to S.Mitchell.

Will basically leave me with 1 trade left and around ~110K and a team of:

Def: D.Swallow, Mcveigh, Enright, Hurn, Hibberd, S.Mitchell (Jaensch, Bews)
Mid: Pendles, Selwood, Fyfe, Libba, Beams, Griffen, Jack, Swan (H'Church, O'Brien)
Ruc: Sandi, Goldstein (King, Currie)
Fwd: Danger, Martin, Buddy, Pav, Roughy, Zorko (Spina, rookie)

Apologies for the long post but any other advice would be appreciated. Cheers :)

K. JACK. Why do you guys think his scores have dropped so much in the last few weeks? Do you think he can pick it back up?

I don't have many trades left... But do you think I should bring him in this week or wait for jpk next week?

You might as well trade enright before swan unless u need the extra cash.

Trades locked in. Ablett => Stevie J and Hibbert => McVeigh
These trades look me the longest they have ever taken all year.
I am going with a more hope and pray approach, could go really good or really bad.

Thanks for responses guys
You both make valid points.
I guess my next question is which midfielder do I bring in.
Do I bring in the most expensive and consistent JPK or go for a Sloane/Barlow or ??

cheers

Hi all. Undecided on whether I upgrade or bring in cash. 5 trades. $65k in bank. My FWD needs one more upgrade but I have to deal with Gaz.

Option 1:
Gaz to SJ
McGovern to Honeychurch. Gives me $457,600

Option 2:
Gaz to SJ
McGovern to Robbie Gray. Leaves me with $44k.

Option 3:
Hold off on trading Gaz for next week
Shenton to Honeychurch
McGovern to Gray. Leaves me with $88k

Good ideas you have. Not sure if possible, but for your McGovern plans - another option is to cash McDonald to a cheap D/M rookie, and then upgrade McGovern to Mitchell in midfield. You would then have the flexibility to use one of your D/M players in midfield if you have a midfielder out injured/suspended.
