He's just not that good anymore unfortunately, a bit like Siddle, has dropped off his pace.
The guy that is extremely stiff is Marcus Stoinis, been in cracking form and hits a massive ball, as well as having taken over opening bowling duties this season in Shield along with being a top 3 bat. He's unlucky that he's competing against 3 of the worlds best all rounders in Wright, Maxwell and Faulkner, also chucking in the likes of Hussey and Hastings.

Wow! Is that Kepler Wessels son ?
I remember Kepler Wessels making 162 on debut in his first test for Australia.
Surely this is his son.
Will be most interesting to see his batting stance.
Never seen a stranger stance that Kepler Wessels.
Yes I believe it is.
He has been replaced in the squad by Englishmen Riki Wessels, who is the son of former South African captain Kepler Wessels, who has been playing at Nottinghamshire after leaving Australia in his teens.
Wessels has played 118 T20 matches, where he has scored 2490 runs at an average of 28.29, strike rate of 137.19.
Can't wait for the BBL to start tonight. Going to sit down and watch the test match today and just look over my side and ensure it is ready to go!

Here is the run down of Aussie injuries from day 1....

Australian physiotherapist Alex Kountouris provided an update on how the four injured Australian players were travelling, after yesterday's tough day in the sapping Brisbane heat. Here is what he had to say:

How's Mitchell Marsh?
"He's got a low grade hamstring strain on his right leg. He's unlikely (to bowl again in this match). He's going to have a scan, we'll try and get him on the field tomorrow and hopefully have him batting."

Mitchell Starc?
"His back was sore and he was getting some rib pain. We haven't had a chance to fully assess that. It's not a side strain and we don't think it's going to be anything that'll stop him bowling, but we'll have to look at it tonight."

Josh Hazlewood?
"He had cramp all over his body. With every ball he bowled he was cramping up in multiple places. He'll recover overnight and we'll see how he wakes up tomorrow. We expect him to bowl tomorrow."

Mitchell Johnson?
"He's OK, he's just generally sore but he's fine. He'll bowl tomorrow."
Is that it?
"I've lost track," he said with a smile. "I think that's it."

Vettori would be in mine too, but I've heard contradicting reports whether he'll be available or not so I erred on the safe side.

Who they open with is pretty hard to predict as any of Burns, Christian, Forrest or Pierson could easily open.

Sure is! Hardly heard anything about him because he moved to England when he was 18 and has played there ever since I'm pretty sure.

We've found a player in Hazlewood, now has four fa and bowling some absolute rippers.

Could end up with a huge bag!

Hazlewood ends up with 5, Lyon gets 3 himself as well.

India bowled out for 408 of all numbers.

2 super catches in that morning session, one by Steve Smith and the other by sub-fielder Marnus Labuschagne at short leg off Lyon's bowling.

Re Riki Wessels possibly being Kepler Wessels son

Cool, look forward to getting a look at how he bats.
Maybe his father only Test player to debut for two Test nations.
Kepler Wessels debut for Australia in 1982 and I'm sure he then played in South Africa first Test match for two decades in 1991. He might have been captain or Clive Rice.

Will certainly check in on BBL from time to time but won't be taking part in fantasy comp. It was a disgrace the rules last year so never bothered to think about giving it a second go. I had five players get zero because game got washed out on first weekend but batsmen in same game that scored runs in the game before washed out scored points. Of course I had all the players yet to have a chance to bat or bowl and the fantasy comp gave me zero for all of them. Absolute farce and deleted my account and never return again. Just a joke of a comp.

Carberry's BBL campaign in doubt...

Oh No, Not Good News For The Perth Scorchers star recruit Michael Carberry is in doubt for his team’s BBL|04 season opener after being hit in the elbow with a ball during training on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old England and Hampshire batsman was reportedly sent to hospital for scans following the incident, which occurred while Carberry was warming up for an intra-club practice match.

Ch 10 ARE NOT showing the BBL LIVE!!! At least tonight's game anyway. POOR POOR POOR
I'm of the belief it is being broadcast live tonight. It's in Adelaide which is half an hour behind which is where the mistake can be easily made.
