So he had (what I thought) was a decent season in 2013, hardly played last year and was delisted then they drafted him again. What's up?

Salem vs Cripps

I'm torn because:

- Cripps made a big impression but played without either Gibbs, Murphy or Judd in each of this outings. He did get a lot of the pill though and look good around the ground.

- Salem got a lot of free touches on the HB line, and showed poise, and he seems to be in the best 21. He also was poor under pressure in game 1.

Byrne
Saad
Oxley
Hamling
Goodes (expensive)
McIntosh

All seem fairly decent value for money.
I have Goodes at D5 right now and am hoping he gets upgraded. His experience and class off half back puts him ahead of a few guys. If that doesn't come to pass, I will get in the best looking rookie from Oxley/Byrne/McIntosh

I've been faced with something similar. I think Salem would be ahead with his JS but everytime i get him in, it's at the expense of Gray which then makes my team not look quite right so i revert back to not having him.

If you look at the pre-season averages the $200K rooks actually are not very appealing or screaming out to be picked, bar Cripps and Salem. Usually I like to push the boundaries of mid rookies but this year I am not sure about going < 4 prem mids (when usually I'd be trialling it by now) because to do so means you flood your midfield with $200K options and, as I said, I am not sure they are there this time.

On Salem, I would see him a must in a 3-7 setup and probably also in a 4-6 one.

Yep, it is a shame that the Hawks (Anderson) and Cats (Gregson, Lang, Cockatoo) play on Monday - I guess we have corrective trades for a reason

Hondo what do you mean by 3-7 and 4-6?
He means the number of prems and rookies in that line - ie 3-7 = 3 prems and 7 rookies
