@FantasyFreako: Ben McGlynn has suffered a hamstring injury and is out for Round 1. Heeney a lock to debut now. via @neilcordy #AFLFantasy #SuperCoach
Against a McGlynn owner in a cash draft league. :D

Heeney could be a must have rookie or a Tom Mitchell type that barely plays. Never really considered him but if he starts round 1 v depleted Essendon I think I will risk it and pick him.

He may be a Green Vest risk

With Robbie Tarrant a pretty much certain inclusion according to coach Brad Scott, is he worth having as F7? Note he will be playing key defender
Yeah been in and out of my team, just really depends on who we get dished up when teams are named and what structure you're running.

Could do worse imo, should have similar if not better JS than Lonie/Karnezis for example

Vandenburg scenario is annoying me right now.

With the Tigers playing Thursday it means I have to lock Lambert in either forward or mid.

If I lock him in mid then I don't think I will have a spot for Vandenburg (barring other rookies not starting) and if I leave him forward and Vandenburg doesn't play I can't bring Lonie in.

I can see Melbourne naming Vandenburg in their 25 man squad but whether he gets a run or not is the problem.

Decisions bloody decisions.
How about play Swan in the Mid instead of Vandenberg and put Lonie in the Fwds. Next week swap Swan for Lambert

Downside is fielding 1 extra rookie in the forwards than you would have planned.

From Jack Watts... "Vanders will miss out, extremely stiff but is going to be on the door of senior selection"

Sorry to all for my post earlier in this thread where I said Vandenberg would play round 1. It appears I am wrong.

Cheers for the inside scoop again, GG!

Sunday Times yesterday has Blakley in their Rd 1 lineup for Freo. They assumed Ballantyne was out but I think they had others in for him anyway.

As much as I am wanting him to be picked. I hope he doesn't so I don't look stupid... haha

I hear you. Same problem for me (and lots of other I am guessing). VDB hasn't even been elevated off the Rookie list yet, so that is probably the first thing to look out for. I think if he gets elevated this week, then there is a reasonable expectation that he would play..... I think
Not necessarily. I remember in 2012 Melbourne elevated Couch in the week before Rnd 1, causing Jay to take him, even though he didn't get named that week..... or the next....... or the next....... or the next...... he actually didn't get a game until about Rnd 17!

I think that was Tom Couch you are thinking of Rowsus.

Winderlich has suffered a pretty significant back injury.

There's a spot open in the Essendon fwd line for Langford/Fantasia. I'd say the news is more favourable for Langford, who could be a decent option should the other options like Lamb/Lonie not get picked.

Could also be good news for Shaun Edwards to take the forward spot (so another defensive rookie option!).
