What does everyone think about the new bidding system.
I reckon it's very good concept but is way too harsh.
Sydney would have had to give up 18,37,38 57 for Heeney and get 64 and 88 in return (woo).
Imagine if that was a father son of a legend at your club like Fletch, Ablett, Boomer, Hodge ect.. In fact academy players get a discount so the cost would be far greater.
So great in fact that it will encourage some teams to let a family name slip through. That's something I don't want to see.

Silvagni's son Jack and Dean Rice son are both likely to be in the player pool.
Will see how it works and Mills of Swans academy is virtually seen as a really early pick so no doubt clubs will bid on him to make Swans pay a lot more for than they did for Heeney. Swans would virtually have had to give up a 3rd round pick on top of what they already did which was pick 18 to get him. In the long run it will probably work out fair for all. Points system looks fair based on fact they looked at a good sample of past picks to devise it. It probably seems complicated to most but glad they put some good thought into it. Just hope we get Jack Silvagni at end of season without too much cost involved. SOS himself will have no say on that and removing himself from the decision making on his son.
