JA: Are Harley Bennell and Charlie Dixon possible trades?

RE: Harley has been contrite and realises it is a bigger picture than his name being in the paper but obviously he has to cope with that but it affects the club, and sponsors and his teammates. His mental state and welfare is the number one issue. He will come back through the reserves next week at this stage. As for next year, if he commits to the group then he is very much a required player..

Ted Richards to miss with concussion symptoms remaining.

Jay Schultz played Thursday.

Bryce Gibbs just back from two weeks out.

Sorry for the rehash but I just needed somewhere to let it out.

Definitely annoying but still worth keeping if you have good cover. I can loop Mckernan and Steele this week so if they don't cost me too many points I don't mind holding Harley and using one of them. Bartel will get cheaper in a few weeks too and he will be a nice POD swap if this keeps dragging on.

Fyfe shouldn't got for that. Mitchell's incident was ordinary & that's twice within a few weeks
Mitchell is giving a second effort and watching the ball the entire time. Again he doesn't run at the man, the man goes to block him and comes off second best. I would be saying throw the book at someone if they are deliberately going out to knee people, but if the Taylor Walker incident hadn't happened, this wouldn't even be looked at. Two blokes ran into each other and one got a corkey. Who cares?

I think shame on Taylor Walker - the captain of a footy club - having a sook about it on twitter with his lightning strikes twice comment. I can't see Hodgey whinging about a corkey if the situation was reversed. Harden up.

I dunno man, i reckon twice in two weeks for a very similar incident is too much of a coincidence and almost seems premeditated. Something we need to stamp out of the game quick smart for mine.

Blocking?

Sarcasm aside - if the Taylor Walker incident (much worse) hadn't happened you would view this as two players just having an accidental clash of legs. He's not even looking at him for gods sake, and it's Fyfe who is the one initiating contact. The hysteria (and precedent) is just ridiculous. It's getting to the point where if someone gets injured, even if it's only minor, SOMEONE MUST PAY. It's a contact sport, people crash into each other. The scrutiny is just absurd.

See, I don't think it's accidental contact. I think he's deliberately raising his knee to protect himself and to inflict damage. The fact that he's not looking makes no difference in my opinion, his peripheral vision would give him enough awareness to know exactly what he's doing.

Not sure it's worth weeks but definitely needs to be addressed.

For those who haven't seen it, 1.04 gives a pretty good reply http://www.afl.com.au/video/2015-07-12/mitchell-runs-hot-but-is-he-in-hot-water

The problem is if he turns side on it's then a bump where he can find himself in more hot water if he goes head high, or if he doesn't raise the leg he opens himself up to a shirt front. Seriously - what option should he go with there?

Bump and not go high i suppose. It's tough but players are faced with that exact same situation a heap of times each match and don't resort to raising their knees.

I don't see him copping weeks but i think it's something that needs to get some attention (which it is) to ensure it doesn't continue,

I disagree, you can't raise your knee like that every time contact occurs, it's not a good look & he would have known exactly who it was as well. We'll have to wait & see what the MRP decides

INJURED Port Adelaide defender Alipate Carlile has been ruled out of Sunday's AFL showdown against Adelaide.
Carlile missed Port's win against Collingwood last Thursday night.
"He has had some back and hip issues that flare up from time-to-time, he'll miss a couple of weeks while it settles down," Port's high performance manager Darren Burgess told the club website on Monday.
