I think they've deliberately left out the 2nd half of his quote...:p

"We want to play him more inside mid than last year. We felt we took him away from his strengths. However, since Pavlich has decided to go around again this year. I don't see his role changing for this season, if anything, he'll probably spend more time deeper in our forward line."

My turn! :p
"We want to play him more inside mid than last year. We felt we took him away from his strengths. Over the preseason he has shown his strength to be in a negating role. So we're hoping to use his mature body in a tagging role on opposition mids this season on some occasions.."

Come on, own up - who is not picking Martin? :)
Jeepers! I think it was 23 out if 24 that had picked him when I posted, now it's only 38 out of 48 ...

So 1 out of the first 24 didn't choose him, and 9 out of the next 24!

Not surprising but Wingard will "be playing more of a small kind of a role instead of a tall, marking type of role this year."

"We're going to have a lot of talls (in attack), I'm just going to keep working on my crumbing skills – that's something I'm probably going to need this year with big 'Dicko' (Dixon) clunking some big marks in there and 'Schulzy' and also "Westy' (Justin Westhoff).

So for the last few weeks I've had Montagna sitting at F1. I'm not completely sold on him at the price he is, and think he is probably a better upgrade target.
However the problem then is, who do I replace him with, and where does the extra money get spent??

My current FWD line:
Montagna, Martin, Dahlhaus, Barlow, Rookies x 4

My overall team structure in terms of premiums is:
3 DEF, 5 MID, 2 RUC, and as above 4 FWD

I don't currently have Libba in this draft team I've been sitting on for a while, but I do have Sloane, who I had locked since SC opened, but have now started to question whether I should start him, with Adelaide's tough start. Can he get back to his 114 2014 season??

So overall my question is, what to do with Montagna, and as the most likely option is a downgrade in terms of his price, what do I do with the extra coin..???

Looks like my structure is the same as yours at the moment.

My starting mids are currently: Fyfe, Danger, GAJ, Pendles, Rocky... So I assume with mention of Sloane that is your main trade-off.

Very interesting, I'd think that would be a positive, as Wingard will have more freedom to go up the ground, and not be stuck as a permanent marking forward.

Very similar, yeah I don't have Fyfe as the only one out of that list. And obviously do have Sloane atm.

Didn't know Montagna grew 20cms taller over the summer... But I know you meant F1 haha :p.

Any chance you have your team posted anywhere? Hard to know without the whole team. But downgrading Montagna to say a fwd under $500k saves you $100k which then I would wait for NAB Challenge to see if any expensive rookies pop up and use to upgrade a basement price rookie to one of them.

I know it's risky, and apologies if it's already been spoken about, but what are everyone's thoughts on Aaron Hall from GC?

Took his opportunities late last season, can't see him playing the same roll in 2016.

Agreed. I'll admit that he's tempting me too, but it's just too risky with so many of their star midfielders to return to their midfield (eg Ablett, O'Meara & Swallow). I am certainly no Suns expert, but I have read on other forums that there's supporters who see him as borderline best-22, as well.

If his awesome form at the tail end of last season was when he was partnered with Ablett, Swallow and O'Meara; then, I'd feel much better taking a punt this time round. Just too much unknown for me.

At 243k, he seems like a great stepping stone if fit, especially with the Kangaroos versing 6 of the easiest teams to score against in the first 9 rounds.
I think an 85 average in the first 9 rounds is definitely achievable. An LTI in the first few rounds is also quite achievable.

Who is the other noob in the poll starting with Lynch? Thought I'd be alone there. ;)
