Well done, mate. It's a life-changer.
Many congrats Jaca. This is in fact SC gold. Once settled in you volunteer to look after the little one while the Mrs takes a break ... of course this means Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It works for a season or two at least.

Cheers all, beautiful girl called Isla. All my friends back home thought it would be Sheila or Kylie.

I should probably post this in the "thanks" thread, but this site has become very much part of my Australian experience.

Like many expats, I spend most of my time with people that are in a similar situation and from similar backgrounds. As such, when we moved to this great country 5 years ago we spent time with poms and Irish who had also recently moved over. It's tough to break into a group of longstanding mates, so thems the breaks.

Now I have an Australian daughter. I'll be a citizen within a month or so, and my favourite sport is AFL!

So much of that is the bit of fun and laughs with you, my mates in the "local". Thanks for letting me in, putting up with my newbie questions, and making me feel at home here in the beautiful country of ours.

Congrats mate! Beautiful name too :)

Enjoy the lack of sleep and never ending nappy changes and loads of washing.

It's the great thing about footy and SuperCoach if you happen to bump into a fellow sc addict. It's almost like a universal language and one of the few times you can actually strike up a convo with a random stranger and it not be weird :p

Congrats on the citizenship too. Big year for you!

Pity there isn't an Ashes Series on atm Jaca! I earned heaps of Brownie points when I volunteered to do the 'Overnight Shift' while the Ashes were on....

Congrats mate! Beautiful name too. Enjoy your time with your little girl while she's still little. It's crazy how quickly they grow.

You should try to make it for the next SCS catchup so you can put some faces to the names.. Speaking of which, when is the next catchup planned for? Philzsay?

Yeah I suppose it's time I organised the next meet up. Most likely a Saturday night at the Mail Exchange, seems to work well for most people. So the 29th of April, 6th of May or 20th of May the leading dates. (13th of May I'll be at the G, if enough people wanted a catchup during the Bombers Cats game, but I'll be busy shouting at the game to pay attention to anyone else....).

Anyone PM dates that suit, or don't suit, or any other suggestions, while I'll start to get the ball rolling behind the scenes.

Edit - See thread below:
