Not going to get too excited as Gawn should go big as a popular C. Phillips is a handy IN as I can have a look at his score to cover Bont with Ahern as backup.

Good point, I actually think Goldsack is an excellent matchup against Riewoldt in terms of both size and speed. Losing Dunn will certainly make it much more difficult for us to get to the grand final, but not sure how well he would've done against Jack.

Treloar is instrumental though, our midfielder has looked highly exposable after his injury, consistently losing clearances (especially centre ones). I imagine against Richmond we would get absolutely smashed in the middle, with all of our midfielders being better at boundary stoppages.

Regardless, looking at our team, we simply cannot be a legitimate threat to Richmond if we're still carrying blokes like Langdon, Crocker, Appleby, Maynard, Mihocek, Greenwood, Sier...

However, if our injured players all return as planned,

FB: Brayden Maynard ~ Darcy Moore ~ Tyson Goldsack
HB: Jack Crisp ~ Matthew Scharenberg ~ Jeremy Howe
C: Steele Sidebottom ~ Scott Pendlebury ~ Tom Phillips
HF: Jaidyn Stephenson ~ Jordan De Goey ~ Will Hoskin-Elliot
FF: Jamie Elliot ~ Mason Cox ~ Alex Fasolo
R: Brodie Grundy ~ Adam Treloar ~ Taylor Adams
Int: Josh Thomas, James Aish, Chris Mayne, Josh Daicos

Could beat Richmond quite convincingly...
At the risk of turning this into a Collingwood thread, Langdon stays in the team over Josh Daicos. History tells you that. What does Josh Daicos bring at present against the strength of the Richmond players? A neat kick, but they are few and far between when he gets them and his pressure isn't at the level it needs to be yet. I note that we are 'carrying blokes' like Maynard, but he remains in your team. He's pretty important against Richmond with smaller, faster forwards. How has Mihocek put a foot wrong since he joined our senior team? He's as good a set shot as any of our players (maybe ex WHE), has good field kicking penetration and is capable overhead. He also provides flexibility at both ends of the ground. Fasolo may struggle to get a game at present unless his pressure lifts.

Always liked Langdon as a player - good intercept mark and hard at it - I guess I wouldn't know as much as you guys, why the hate towards him?

Also, I think the "Could beat Richmond quite convincingly" is a little off - watching them play and harass, Richmond as a side are not full of superstars, but they totally break oppositions down with pressure. Collingwood this year has great pace and movement, but when players look up and Richmond's pressure game is on, I don't see any side getting through that Richmond pressure easily let alone beat them convincingly.

I am a Saint supporter and have just compared the Calton and St.Kilda teams for tonight. Carlton have 4 players that I would pick before selecting a St.Kilda player; Cripps, Krueser, Curnow (maybe both and that would be 5) and Simpson.
I might have a little flutter tonight on the underdogs with the better players. Saints are $1.32 and Blues $3.60.

I think it's the man-bun that causes the angst :)

Yeap all vald points.

My belief is that the pressure provided by daicos is critical if we run with Elliot, Hoskin-elliot and Fasolo, all of which are prolific goal kickers but are also somewhat lazy in applying tackles. Daicos is clean, agile and is actually quite important stucturally.

Regarding Maynard, I included him in our team exactly for the reason you mentioned. Richmond has great small forwards, and Maynard is one of our few half decent small lockdown defenders. The reason why he's a liability is because his kicking/turnovers can often lead to 3-4 goals for the opposition a game.

Mihocek hasn't really put a foot wrong since joining our team, yes. However he hasn't done too much either. It's more just a severe lack of impact for him, if Elliot and Fasolo comes back he won't have a spot in our team as he doesn't really play like a KPF and plays more like a Tom Lynch (adelaide) role so it's not like he offers structural value.

I actually went to the same school as Langdon so I don't hate him as much as many other pies supporters hahaha.

His problem is:
-He can't defend
-He's incredibly slow
-His kicks often go in a random direction like Maynard
-He's fumbly
-A weak tackler

Essentially the only thing he does is intercept marking once inawhile, but obviously we much prefer Howe in that role.

Hi guys,

Would love an opinion from anyone... One of McLean Walters Wingard or heeney has to go to my midfield bench - without the looping ability as all my mid benchers are playing... Who would you go? I'm leaning towards McLean at the moment...

They can't go forward either because I have billings on the bench looping.

Fair enough. I guess I only see the times that he does haha... Selective.

Wow what #firstworldproblems haha
I think McLean is a pretty good scorer so would keep him on field. Walters would be the one I'd consider benching.

My midfield is:

Danger, Selwood (both locked in) then Titch, Kelly, Cripps, Oliver, Zorko, Dusty and Rocky.

That's 9 premos with little looping opportunity. Who would you bench?!

Every chance he could have a 100-120 game though, would much rather have 151 locked in!!!
