Scott and Butters to Rocky and Stack is probably your best option.

Rocky probably has to be a keeper now if you pick him.
Yeah that was the option that stood out at first glance but feels very early to be getting rid of Scott, who could still do quite a bit of mooing.

Yeah agree but seems like your best move if you feel you ‘need’ rocky.

So is Rowan Marshall a keeper? Will he keep Billy Longer out of the team? Grateful for advice. If Marshall isn't rucking the year I don't think I want him, I've already got my F7/M9 sorted (thanks Dunkley the Dud).

LDU>Stack
Parker>Marshall
It’s the typical SC conundrum.

Whilst SMartin/Gawn types have been successful examples, I wouldn’t forget Nank’s first year as sole ruck when he finished on 88-90 ish after tiring later in the season. Can see a similar risk for Marshall. Gawn/SMartin also only rucked half a season as the number ruck in their “breakout” years so didn’t necessarily have the chance to “tire”.

I think you have to be prepared to an extent to either deal with 80-85s later in the season and for him to become an F6/F7 or trade him out if he peaks at $500k odd and then starts to tire.

I’m a happy owner who took him at $340k so am more open to trading him out at $500k. But if you buy at 406k, there might be a bit more reluctance to trade if things go pear shaped (but nonetheless you should be prepared to). Those who traded in Nank and held all year in 2017 would’ve been disappointed...and he had R/F!

I think Moore is still important to structure due to DPP flexibility and wanting to minimse less reliable on-field forward rookies.

But I like Marshall and will be looking to get Parker up to him, I think.
I can only just get to him using Moore, and that’s after trading Setterfield down to Stack. Sadly I’m about 40k shy of using a Butters and Parker trade out combo.

I think I do need him and would be hoping he became a keeper.

He’s still reasonably priced and has that really high ceiling so even if he breaks down, his value could spike to something decent.

Gawn - > Mumford
Butters - > Rockliff
Something out of left field Herbie, I like it!

Not sure I can afford to add the risks that come with mummy to my team without r/f cover though.

English - > Mumford
Balta - > ROB via Bines (pending Jacobs update)

think I will keep Butters , first 3 games were good enough

Best avenue to turn Butters into Rocky ($447,500)? Or do i just skip him now and hope and pray he slows down

$165,100 ITB, 4 trades used so far.

I didn't mind the look of Stack but not sure he is a must have even at $102k.
Scott/Butters to Stack/Rocky is an aggressive move and very risky. Your mid rookie bench seems very vulnerable if you do Butters to Stack on its own which seems to be the more standard move this round.

I think I would do those trades to add a bit more support to that M8 spot.

I thought you would be all over a left field trade ? , Westhoff will be under $ 400k after the WCE game , too good of a player to stay down , Marshall kicked 4 in the SANFL so suspect he will come in soon.

Parker - > Westhoff for about $ 170k the following week

Yeah I’m spewing I don’t have a M/F sitting in my midfield instead of Bewley because I’d be able to move Parker on instead. I don’t mind being able to loop my M8 but it can backfire pretty easily as shown on the weekend so hoping Bewley gets a game soon to start adding some value/cover to my team.

Trading Scott for 50k or whatever profit is the one thing that’s stopping me, especially when I can see him still making quite a bit more cash.

Yeah if the hoff gets back to his roaming best I’ll be all over him. Him, buddy, JJK, TJL are going to be super cheap soon and then we’ve got the Geelong and bulldogs forwards to grab as well. Gonna have too many options :)

Williams would be a potentially controversial option, but could well make sense if you don’t think he will be a good keeper and you think Rocky will.

Here's my team at the moment - considering Butters and Parker to Stack and Marshall, but trading Butters weakens that M8 spot pretty significantly. I keep getting stuck in the mindset of not trading though... SC team.PNG

An option could be Z Butters to R Marshall via X Duursma (moves to M8) and D Moore (moves to D4) by trading B Scott to S Stack.

Looking to improve my team this week;

D: L Whitfield, R Laird, Z Williams, J Scrimshaw, X Duursma, M Hore B: J Clark, C Burgess
M: P Cripps, L Neale, C Oliver, Z Merrett, T Liberatore, S Walsh, C Constable, T Atkins B: Z Butters, B Scott, M Gibbons
R: B Grundy, T Goldstein B: R O'Brien
F: P Dangerfield, I Heeney, R Gray, D Moore, W Drew, M Parker B: W Setterfield, N Balta

I have $300K to spend.

The options I can see are either T Rockliff or R Marshall in. I don't believe I can get both in.

Rockliff goes again my injury risk rules.
Marshall has no proven history.

Looking for opinions on these 2 or if there are other options I'm not seeing.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks mate. It's a very, very confusing week. I'm concerned about continuing to expose Drew and Parker on field each week, at this rate - Setterfield and Balta don't help either!

First of all, I'd say Kelly should be your first upgrade - no brainer (though I would assume you've already thought of this).

I'd say that Scott to Rockliff makes a lot of sense in your position - but at the same time, depends how you feel about Libba being a true premium.

Otherwise, Jack Billings is in form :p.
Parker to a premium forward might be the play now if you don't want to wait for Kelly.
