Looking at my trades this week, and feeling a bit confused.

The one that stands out to me is Parker to Daniel, but at the same time, that eats up all my 300k, and I can't help but feel that isn't utilising my resources effectively.

I'm currently ranked 26k, trending upwards but looking to be aggressive.

Wish some of my cash cows were further along!
You could consider Collins out via Moore.

Arguably Collins wouldn’t even be fielded at the moment now that you have Hore, and he’s much closer to the (average x 5,000) benchmark than Parker, albeit either could have a spike game.

Ideally Moore would remain forward, given the better depth of def rookies, although Moore to Daniel is obviously strengthening your forward line as it is.

Looks like it might be Ridley > Baker via Moore for me this week. Might upgrade one of Moore or Sheed, see where it lands..

This could be received with guffaws of laughter, but I’m considering doing these two trades this week if Rotham isn’t named for the Eagles:

Parker > Baker
LDU > Franklin (via Setterfield DPP)

Thoughts on Franklin having bottomed out? Feel like the Swans are going to come good soon, and he’ll pick up his work rate after a decent outing (goals wise). I’m $700 short of Worpel and would like to wait a week on Kelly as he might come down a touch more. Next week, I’ll be able to afford Collins > cheapie and then Rozee > Kelly if I’m fortunate with players hitting/missing BE’s.

Was looking at Buddy too. If Davis is out this week I might roll the dice with him.

Helpful as always!
I like the idea of trading Collins, given that he does appear to be topping out. Trying to find a way to get Hore on field - could do Duursma and Collins to Daniel and Hanley (only half joking :p).

Going to have to find a way to do a 1 up, 1 down I'm happy with this week I think.

Most my rookies have to much moo left. So looks narrowed it down to

1. Darling > Daniel
2. Parker > Baker

Thinking of holding onto Andrews and asses from there. Next round would be a 1 up 1 down

Down to 2 options but I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on trade options.
A. Out: J Darling, In: T Kelly
Also started Hore and traded him for J Scrimshaw in RD3 but could potentially bring Hore back for S Collins and then next week potentially J Clark to J Hately which could potentially allow R Gray to come in for M Parker in the next fortnight.

B. Out: S Collins, In: M Hore
Then in RD7 Out: J Clark, M Parker, In: J Hately and T Kelly but involves keeping J Darling but saves 1 trade in comparison to the above proposal.
Would you consider Baker as a downgrade option this week for either Parker or Darling?
I think that you should seriously consider Nest's suggestion (in lieu of Hore) as it addresses the need of your current structure.

I would use 2 trades this round because you can afford to...
  • Collins to Baker via Duursma to DEF and Setterfield to MID
  • Darling to TKelly
Your benches will look more balance after that:
Clark, Burgess
Loop 1 of Gibbons/Scott/Atkins at M8 via Setterfield
ROB
Parker, Bines

These trades should leave you with approx. $157K in the bank which will enable you to go 1 down, 1 up to your fallen premium of choice.

Parker to Baker just looks so yuck to me with it only netting $50k

Is it more to do with money making potential? Is Baker not just as likely to lose his spot when Cotchin returns as Ross or do they play completely different roles? (Haven't watched Richmond in a few weeks)

1. Parker>Baker and then can do one of;

a) Moore to Boak
b) Butters to Dusty

A or B peoples?
Not sure I like either, but Dusty would be my choice.

Boak is set to return back to earth at some point - whereas Dusty is underpriced, just not sure by how much. Did boost his score with 3.2 on the weekend.

To me Parkers ability to make cash from here is very limited as the Saints are winning and he still ain't scoring. I would much prefer a cheaper rookie fwd, but at least Baker looks like he should stay in a winning Tigers side and score ok and make at least $100k quickly.

i'm in a bit of trouble. ranked 28k, dropped 10k this week after a 2061 featuring Darling and Captain Macrae. not panic stations but keen to get some business done. however have used 5 trades already, but nonetheless think i'm gonna ride the Darling wave and get rewarded when it turns around. so talk me out of:

Collins to Telly via DPP
Butters to Hately

my team is then:

D: Lloyd, Whitfield, Williams, D Moore, B Smith, Duursma, Clark, Burgess
M: Cripps, Neale, Macrae, Libba, Rocky, Walsh, Constable, Hately, Gibbons, Stack, Scott
R: Grundy, Gawn, ROB
F: Danger, Heeney, Telly, Darling, Drew, Petrucelle, Setterfield, Balta

Trades remaining will be 23, best case only 8 upgrades required, likely case 11-12.
thoughts appreciated!

Don't mind the proposed alternative but the only problem with it is the ability to get J Hately in RD7 as following the above trade means B Scott would be the only avenue and the cash generated from this plus the remaining salary wouldn't allow Parker to be upgraded.

Another alternative I've just recently considered is
RD6:
Out: S Collins, B Scott
In: L Baker (via X Duursma to D, W Setterfield to M) as F6 thus pushing M Parker to bench, M Hore (via X Duursma back to mids and allows Duursma to be looped with Gibbons)
Darling will be kept
RD7:
Out: M Parker, J Clark
In: T Kelly, J Hately (via X Duursma back to def) and roughly 50,000 remaining.

This means I'd have 23 trades left and only 1 upgrade done due to corrections and rookie downgrades but would allow me to possess all 3 of (Baker, Hore and Hately) thus allowing future trades to be completed easier as well as most of the initial rookies ready or nearly ready to be upgraded.

Baker almost a must have with how well he’s scoring and the lack of forward rookies.

Will make 100k+ next week alone with a decent score
A SC score of 200 next week would indeed be, um, decent :) Cotchin maybe out for longer to now which should probably also help him.
Everyone looks to be jumping on Baker but Stack (for those who passed on him last week) is still only 10k more than Baker.
Was thinking the same. Both Stack and Gibbons are now just like high priced rookies but with a bit more history...decent JS and roles, especially now Gibbons seems to have found a new role and some mojo

Currently travelling overseas over Easter. Had a rubbish weekend again no thanks to useless POD scoring.

Considering the following options:
1. Darling to T.Kelly
2. Darling to Daniel
3. Parker to Baker

I’m unsure about Bakers job security and scoring consistency.
Currently have 27 trades left and about 127k in bank.
Open to any suggestions! Please help!

Interesting thought.

I traded Hore out in round 3. Would almost prefer to bring him back in then go with Baker. Gibbons I'm not so sure about, might have been an anomaly because Carlton won which I'm not expecting to happen too often
