For those of you who have Stocker...what will you do with him? Trade him out? Is it worth spending a trade on him at this stage of the season?

Gresham anyone? Supercheap, looks to have ok run home. Couple tons in a row.
Only 9 trades left for me and looking for El cheapo options.

Forwards
No rookie forwards in the pipeline to help with upgrades so I plan to complete my forwards with:
Moore > Boak
Atkins > Gray via Setterfield dpp.
Leaves me with Balta and Parker on the pine and would like to moo Balta now he is playing down back and losing cash but not sure how.
Mids
Not to keen on Bewley and would rather wait for Clarke to be on the bubble, depending on JS’s.
I would like the final mid upgrade to be P Cripps but will wait till after his bye, and also to see if he gets affected by a serious tag from now on.
Backs
Need a few of these and Should be able to complete some upgrades in the next few weeks. Want to get in J Lloyd as he scores like a mid and is unlikely to be tagged. A few possible rookies coming through.
Rucks
Have had Grawndy from the start. No way am I trading Grundy out.
Do you already have Gardner?

Don’t mind the selection but would prefer R Gray around the same price range and will be interesting to see if the arrival of Hannebery will have a positive/negative affect on Gresham.

Have considered Gray too.

And Westhoff
Grabbing Gray this week to join the Hoff up forward. Surprised how far under the radar he has flown as usually everyone would be all over a player of his caliber and scoring history at this price range with forward eligibility and dpp.

Missed out on Balta but hopefully Burgess can sustain his form from the weekend and provide a Baltaesque performance over the coming weeks hopefully allowing him to be traded to Menegola upon his return to loop with the Hoff in the latter half of the year as well as providing dual position cover.

I was wondering whether you still had Mummy or not, he was quite good until 3 weeks ago, losing too much cash now to keep..................was going through alternative rucks last night looked at Lycett, Ryder, and started crying when I considered Bellchambers :) so looked at getting a mid in (Crouch was always on my radar after his bye so just 2 weeks early)

This morning I had a crazy thought to see who Freo pick to ruck (Jones or Meek) and see if that could be a option.

IF I find a reasonable downgrade target for Answerth (D7) & Setterfield (M9) I might have enough $$$ to go Duursma - > BBQ/Sloane and then Walsh to Grundy but going to have a crap bench for the run home

Westhoff at R2 gives me a bit of thinking space to evaluate, maybe Grundy gets down to $ 625 k.

So much easier to have started Gawn/Grundy + Goldstein, hindsight is such a wonderful thing.
It was going so well until round 10. I get that he had a down game against Gawn and even Witts (who is pretty handy) but to be badly beaten by ROB is pretty poor.

I'm inclined to agree re Westy going to R2 allowing some time to think and assess. You never know, Grundy could go low again or Gawn could have a shocker for some reason. If NicNat was close to back I'd even consider running him - he's a gun and one of few who can match Gawn and Grundy when fit. I feel like Hoff scores better in the ruck too :p

I think the worry is age, fitness and role. He seems to be playing more forward than ever. Needs that extra midfield time where he is ablettesque at the clearances and pickup.

If I saw a week or two with just as much midfield time when Wines is back I’d jump on but I think Boak moving back to the mids this year has seen Gray’s scoring drop with less midfield time along with age and fitness queries.

Whilst concerned and agree with the above, at the price point and low breakeven I think it’s a low risk/high reward move. Worst case he performs poorly or injured he can be possibly moved to F7 or M9 or traded with his value likely to increase to the mid 400,000 range meaning approximately 100,000 or less to be traded to the top end fwd premiums currently not possessed.

With his fwd centric role over the past 2 seasons (2017 and 2018) he has still managed an avg of 94.21 from 43 matches inclusive of injury affected games. Also our remaining fixture in regards to 7 of our last 11 at AO should be beneficial for Robbie as he has averaged 108.71 from 58 (17/58 below 100, 22/58 120+) there with 2017 the only season with an avg below 104 at Adelaide Oval.

Also quite interesting that he has amassed below 20 disposals 3 times this season for an avg of 57 in comparison to the remainder above 20 for an avg of 99.8.

Since 2018:
Disposals Avg: 21.14
Sc avg when disposals equal/exceed 22: 111.08 from 12 (low of 89 and a high of 145, 3/12 below 100, 4/12 120+)
Sc avg when disposals below 22: 78 from 16 (low of 37 and a high of 109, 14/16 below 100)

Totally agree Westhoff loves knowing he is R2.

Looks like Darcy is back in the frame so will see how he goes , I still need to find $ 200k to go Walsh to Grundy and not convinced on Answerth to Naish/Logue as a D7 or Setterfield to Hately/Clarke/Bewley etc so might sit for a few weeks.

Might just have some crazy fun and go completely different at R2 and try and solidify my D7 , M9 (Hanners) & F7 (Lynch) for the run home before General Soreness appears each week.

Had my eye on Nic Nat as well.

Agreed at this price a good buy in !
Think if you are looking good in other lines or low on trades he is an ideal low risk high reward F6 option.

Right now I’ve got 9 trades 210k and only 2/3 spots left to upgrade really. Forwards and rucks are complete.

Hore, Duursma (Answerth, Burgess)
Butters (Baker, Bewley, Stocker)
(Fort)
(Corbett, Setterfield)

If Hore keeps putting up premium numbers then I’m cruising. Could move Stocker down to Gardner via some DPP magic, which allows funds for Answerth-Ryan/Sicily orrrrrrr try my luck going the value route moving Answerth to any defender under 442k which is seriously slim pickings.

Would love to hear any thoughts on the above, low on trades but don’t have many upgrades to do which is nice.

@Connoisseur @quite ironic @Juzzo

Connoisseur thanks for the stats on Gray you make compelling case, but my gut says no.

I think the last match was an aberration in the context of this season. No Wines, Rocky, so more mid time, and poor opponent. I think you're better off finding the money somehow... you can't have spent it all yet, for Mundy/Boak/Telly/Dunkley/Daniel. If you can't scratch the cash for these guys then I think Rowan Marshall, with only one match against Grawndy to come, is the best pick...yes is $60k more, but I think it's money well spent. I'd rather continue to run Hore in def or buy a Blakley than buy a bloke Gray/Gresham whose got a significant chance of screwing it up. Somehow I have Toby Green sitting at F6 and I wouldn't wish you to have the same issue as dodgy F6 as me.

Don't get me wrong, this is the first season I've had the guts not to buy Robbie for a long time, I love him as a footballer, I just hate where Hinkley plays him.

Atkins > Fyfe
Clark > Naish
Stocker > Bewley

Leaves team looking like this with 11 trades remaining :

D : Lloyd, Houli, Ryan, Laird, Williams, Duursma (Answerth, Naish)
M : Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Oliver, BRouch, Rocky, Walsh, Gibbons (Bewley, Baker, Scott)
R : Gawn, Grundy (ROB)
F : Boak, Kelly, Danger, Dunkley, Heeney, Worpel (Young, Bines)

19 playing, which will likely be 18 if Young isn't selected

Next week I'm thinking :

ROB > Gardner
Gibbons > Clarke
Walsh > Parker

A price spike from Walsh + Gibbons could make it hard to move them on next week... Here's hoping for some good, but not great scores from those fellas!
