DGW players: T Banton, C Lynn, B Laughlin, D Sams, J Vince, J Philippe, T Curran (C) and U Khawaja (C)
SGW played: A Agar
SGW yet to play: S Marsh, Q Ahmad

Hoping the SGW pods in S Marsh and Q Ahmad can compensate for a poor performance by A Agar and the majority of my DGW players and hopefully can register a score close to par come rounds end.

Hard to gauge due to the large scores by several pods in conjunction with low ones from some of the popular selections as well as the round not being halfway through, but assume 900+ should be sufficient for a position in the top 10,000 to 20,000.

Ugh, coin tossed Livingstone and Jordan for my only SGW player on field, and got the wrong answer. Should have just taken the safe bowling points instead of trying to make a big POD move so early. Was meant to be all DGW guys but I decided to bail on Gilkes with the loop, which has not worked out at all. 765/1.

For those asking for what's par for the round...bookmark this post.

Work off a 50 average per scoring player +1 (Captain) for each round. That's what the top 2% of teams will most likely be scoring for each round and use that as the benchmark to gauge how your team is tracking. Obviously, there will be ups & downs each and every round, but that figure should hold for the majority of rounds.

So if you're fielding 11 DG players this round, your total number of scoring players +1 = 11*2+1*2 (if your C is a DG player) = 24

To be in reach of the Top 2% of teams for the round, you'll need 24*50 = 1,200

If the scoring trend for this round continues, then that 1,200 benchmark may be elevated. For example, I'm currently averaging 63/player and I would like to think that puts me at around the top 5%.

The above is merely a guide based on my experiences and useful for those who wants to gauge how their score is stacking up whilst a round is still in progress.

Took a couple of risks with my starting 11. One paid off, one didn't:

The Good: Phillipe 150, Ferguson 124, Curran 99, Jordan 84.
The Average: Sams 53, O'Keefe (c) 48 (96), Laughlin 39, Henriques 34
The Poor: Banton 30, Khan 16, Livingstone 0.

Bench: Bryant 15, Nevill, Wright, Short, Agar W.

Sitting on 2/732, which is probably around or just below par.
Happy with my decision to play Jordan, as most will likely trade him in, in the next Round or two, so it puts me one trade up on the pack. I brought Jordan in to pad my Round 3 DGR's, at the expense of taking Bryant's 15. Even if Bryant gets 10-15 in front of Jordan from here, I'll call it a win.
Livingstone's 0 is just one of those things, and I just have to persevere with him now.
Made 3 last hour changes before Round 1, and I'm currently about 30 points behind on the deal, so not too bummed by them.
Happy to see some great scores here so far. I'm confident we'll have more than our fair share of top 200 or top 500 coaches, here at SCS.

Obviously, there will be ups & downs each and every round, but that figure should hold for the majority of rounds.

So if you're fielding 11 DG players this round, your total number of scoring players +1 = 11*2+1 = 23

To be in reach of the Top 2% of teams for the round, you'll need 23*50 = 1,150

If the scoring trend for this round continues, then that 1,150 benchmark may be elevated. For example, I'm currently averaging 63/player and I would like to think that puts me at around the top 5%.

If your captain has a double game wouldn't you need to add 2 (i.e. 24 scores)?

For me 9/21 scores so far for 569 (I went with 8 DGW players). Keeping that average up, I would get to 1327, or 277 above par.

From the looks of it, I have one of the lowest scores here so far, so I highly doubt a 50 average will be the par score this round.
