For those basing trades around BEs, it may be worth checking how much cash you need.

The 11 dearest players from the 4 teams that look to be in the mix to finish 4th and 5th are worth just under $2.1m. A bench might cost you $300k to be generous to the benefit of having a team worth over $2.4m might be modest.

That’s especially true given you can’t actually select players from all 4 of those teams, or necessarily select the top 11 priced players on a field-able formation.

Prices will change of course, but my team seems to be worth around $2.6m so if you’re in a similar position it may not be a big issue.

Have you factored in the prices of players in the teams finishing 1st & 2nd ?

First round of finals consists of 2 games , 4 v 5 & 1 v 2.

Nice one Darkie. You read my mind.

I’m still giving Short some thought. Depending how much his price may move hes one I’m considering over a double gamer.

Good pickup - if I adjust that, the top 11 players go to around $2.18m.

I believe @Diabolical made up very good ground last year by not simply picking the highest priced names ... so whatever number you come up with, it’s more of a guide as an upper bound (after adding in bench cheapies or players you want to loop) than a target as I see it.

My team value is currently $ 2.4 million so hopefully will be ok.

Definitely will be able to find 3 cheapies for the bench , depends on the loop if you then need another 2 cheapies or more expensive players.

Lot could change in the final round re ladder positions so will just wait till the end of the round then sort it out then.

Passing on AB and Lynn I think now.
Thinking Head, Neser, Morris to Richo, Nabi, DShort. Gives me:
Stoinis, Maxy, Short, *Webster, *DC (Henriques/Nevill)
Carey (Philippe)
Boland, Khan, *Patto, *Nabi, *Richo (Qais/Kerr)

Out : Khan , Morris , Head

In: Richardson , Boyce , ???

Have Lynn and no other Heat player looks appealing so might just go for a luck dip with my third trade

Boyce , Christian , Nabi , Richardson , Sutherland
Lynn
Maybe Patto?

Bit unsure of trading this round given that come finals you have unlimited trades to rearrange your team. So isn't about cash generation this round? Acknowledging the Renegades have a double round but after that would you not just want to pick players that are going up in value ie low BE. For example I am going to trade out Stonkers as he will most likely drop in value. Or am I missing something?

Who loses out between Stoinis, Maxy, Short, R Khan and Head? I'm leaning towards Head. Hopefully a good performance can boost me into the top 1000 before finals.

Personally, I want to maximise the points this late into the season. My team value for this round is 2.4 million and I know that will decrease but is easily enough to form the team I want from the teams in the finals. The BE's have been good for me and bad this season because I've gotten caught up in the farming aspect instead of point generation. I see your point and it is valid and could be cheeky POD move regardless but I want to maximise my points through DGW with 7 renegades and heat players.

I have no idea to be honest , I wonder if they play Mujeeb & Swepson they rotate Patto , Laughlin & Lalor or drop Cutting and play 5 specialist Bowlers like every other team.

Can ABD get his hitting game working at the G , looks stiff in the back and overweight watching the other game.

It's possible, especially given the Heat seem to make a lot of bad decisions ... I think you were Ponting out that conditions are terrible for Mujeeb at Brisbane - yet Brisbane bring him in as an international player?!

Brave call leaving out Patto though, he's clearly international standard and averages 74, which is about 50% more than their next best player (Banton unavailable and Prestwidge left out at around 54). I know it's not about SC points but it's an indicator.

Edit: hmmm, he missed a game recently due to illness but even before that I wondered if he would want or need a rest. Brisbane play the very last game, meaning that their finals hopes may not be swinging on that result depending on how things go before then.

Unfortunately, as a Heat fan who witnessed the renegades collapse in the stadium with a friend who is a renegades fan :(, I don't see swepson getting many overs. I could be wrong especially at SCG but Boof has indicated all season long by his decisions of pace being preferred. Mujeeb will get 4 overs (if we bowl 20) due to international status. Labuschagne will probably bowl and over or two aswell as the 3 from Cutting which will cut into swepsons overs. Patto, Laughlin and Lalor will bowl 4 overs with one maybe bowling 3 who I expect would be Lalor. I don't understand why pick swepson if he isn't getting overs. Two games this season I know he has been picked and hasn't bowled AN OVER as a spinner who was in the test squad against NZ. It's just bizarre. Anyway, that's just same predictions from a disappointed fan based on previous games this season and these numbers are predictions. I wish we would hold 4 bowlers with Labuschagne and Cutting bowling the other 4 to strengthen our batting slightly with another batter.

Fair point about if you have enough cash already and can sustain a $ loss. I guess I was thinking if a player has a BE of 175 and scores a 20 or 30 (and even the best players do that) then you could lose 40 or 50k. Multiple that by a couple of players and it could bite you.
