Incidentally if you were ranked third, would you be hoping for a washout to consolidate your position or still hoping for some gametime to risk it for 2nd or 1st? He’s only 20 and 50 points behind respectively. But 110 points in front of 4th. You would have to be hoping for play surely?
$$ or go home

Edit - oh wait are there second and third prizes ?

When theres a stadium with a roof it begs to be used. Earlier final washouts to favour the higher ranked side which still engineers a 1v2. This is an entertainment competition so Sixers losing the home ground advantage should just have to deal with it. Just as Scorchers travelled halfway around the globe in a week :ROFLMAO:
Play all the games there and we won't have any weather/smoke issues at all.

Think I read they dug the pitches up at Marvel a few weeks ago so not sure how quick it is to prepare a pitch suitable in time.

I guess flights , accommodation , security , food & beverage etc are all minor details that can be re-arranged in a few hours.

Not sure why the Sixers should have to lose home ground advantage when it is set in the rules.

Scorchers definitely should have made a bigger issue of the transport and as a minimum played back to back away games against the 2 Melbourne & 2 Sydney teams.

Smith, Stoinis (C), Vince, Maddinson, Larkin
Philippe
Abbott, Rauf, Zampa, Hazlewood, Maxwell

Figure that should be POD enough to make up some ground in a rain-affected game, but I'd need the Stars to bat first and Sixers to get at least 10-11 overs for it to work out...

Well I made a hash of my changes and forgot to press Save after making them... at least I had the common sense to put together something beforehand. So what I ended up with was:

Stoinis (c), Maxwell, Larkin, Smith, Henriques
Philippe
Abbott, Hazlewood, NCN, Rauf, Zampa

I meant to get Zampa and Henriques out for Dwarshuis and Vince but oh well...

1982/83 McDonald's Cup Final was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Was then played as the opening game in the 1983/84 season.

Do we have a forecast for mid December in Sydney , that could be the solution.

Luckily it doesn't involve SYDT ... the chances of rain, smoke, lights going out etc would be high :)

Yeah i can definitely see where your coming from. I just think when they have the opportunity to guarantee the last game of the year is played it should be taken. And yeah obviously if thats the case with Marvel pitches being dug up, then you cant criticise them for not moving it.

And just saw your above post pop up re: clubs voted against neutral venue, I think it should be a fan driven thing rather than clubs. As cricket lovers we had this bastardised "product" forced upon us. And to be fair I have grown to like it since initial dismay. So lets not forget what gave birth to the BBL - getting punters hard earned. And to have followed a couple of months of it only for the final to be rained out kind of sucks. (and I get that rain is a part of cricket, but most Test series' aren't destroyed by one day of rain.

Ranting incoherently now, must be beer oclock :ROFLMAO:
