The Herald Sun understands McKenna, who is asymptomatic, had trained in a small group with fellow defenders Adam Saad, Cale Hooker, Michael Hurley, Matt Guelfi, Jordan Ridley and Mason Redman.

The AFL had encouraged clubs not to stack their training groups with players from the same line.

But the AFL will tell Essendon it needs to play next week even if its starting back six are not available while in quarantine.
I think this was on Wednesday but on Friday McKenna participated in full team training.

And aside from that, he would’ve been touching door handles etc within the club. Anyone could’ve gotten it.

My understanding is that Mel and Ess players will contribute two scores in a future round (assuming they play both games), a bit like a DGR in other fantasy formats.
My initial thought were, that with the bye ruling having been put in place, and people somewhat compensated, the catch up game would be "ignored" from a SC point of view.
No scoring included, no price changes affected, as that game had already been given bye status.

Can I ask what lead you to your DGR understanding?

HS announced it would be a DGR for the makeup game later in the season.

AFLF haven’t made an official call yet but hinted it would be ignored.

Personally I don’t think Conor McKenna has covid19, we've seen heavy cold/flu symptoms testing positive, just waiting for subsequent test to come back negative. Here's hoping. Interesting to see what they do after that.
I still cannot understand how a player testing negative is assumed to have the virus. It’s a mess moving forward, and I am not just talking about football. Just yesterday at the golf club, found out one of the cooks has been confirmed positive, now every one who ate at the club or purchase a drink or visited the club, now needs to self isolate for 14 days. It’s getting crazy. The club just re opened 2weeks ago, now I’m trapped at home again. At some point society has to get back to routines and free movement with precautions, if not the small chance of dying from this will be the least of our concerns.

It was the HS article. These were the key paragraphs:

We understand those with stars such as Devon Smith, Max Gawn and Jack Viney or rookies such as Harley Bennell and Trent Rivers will be disappointed they won’t be part of their Round 3 score.

We hope the pay off will be already having these players in your team will give you an edge when they play a double in a few rounds’ time.
