Out: T. Brown, M. Rowell
In: J. Aarts and A. Treloar :) (It was either him or Cripps... Crippa/Bont can wait a week or two).

As you can see, with my midprices, Houston, Lynch, Smith all going gangbusters, Dunkley, Kelly, Fyfe all playing golf, this season is really not going well at all.

Most likely to change many times but currently : Pitt to Gawn. Bid Brander or Noble farewell, push Dev to mids to cover Rowell and Aarts in.

Starcevich and Rowell to Ridley and Yeo. Aarts scored nicely but I have King, Sturt, K. Pickett, Comben all up forward and I wouldn't be able to fit him in.

Geez you all make it seem so easy ... lol ...

- Last week I had literally 6 players in the mix ... just needed a mid or mid/fwd and defence cover ... Steelebottom my POD collateral damage and probably straight onto my never again list for standard SC/DT anyway ...

So with that opening comment I guess I better put up what my considerations were ... (some stronger than others and had a budget to work with)
- no particular order I must add and no hindsight players ...

- McGrath (91), Greenwood (132), Wingard (76), McCluggage (116), Parfitt (98), Smith, B (3), Corr (70) ...

So to break down each of them in my view (notes) ....

- McGrath: not sold yet ... 1st true year as a mid ... lethal kick, but will consider next year ...
- Greenwood: not sure on his tank, reliant upon tackle count but the shorter game times should help ... Rowell potentially down now though !!
- Wingard: reliant upon goals, not sure on his tank, shorter games should help but what is Clarko going to do with him ...
- Parfitt: that hammy tightness missed game has initially put me off ... otherwise I'd lock him in .... looks like an impact player !!
- Smith: Bevo factor .... finding it hard to trust any more doggies now ... Bont, Macrae etc ... was looking good too and still may be ...
- Corr: was just a pure price and average based consideration .... never really considered because of the GWS factor ....

Had a quite a few defenders in mind but no use posting about them now :) as they weren't realistic opportunities for me last week anyway ...

Also had one or two forwards in my sight ... tough decision this week on which line to upgrade / strengthen first ...

Still reviewing the @Professor team .... well and truly skittled me in one league ... other than "unrealistically" changing my bench line ups in hindsight I never really had a chance ... :)

I have held on to Viney way too long ! the goal was to make money by getting him, now he is losing money :(
I've seen this movie before. Mid priced, bought for cash generation. Scores well early and you think "this is my match winning move". Starts to tail off, but you have other problems. Starts losing cash, but you hold another week...."he's been pretty consistent, even if he's lost that premo level of form, he'll still score decently. Might lose 5k, bit I can live with that this week"

Do you want to know the ending? (This happened to me twice last year)

..
..
..
..

He cops a game ender in the first minute, finishing with a score around 5, and loses 100k and you're back to where you started, and you curse the supercoach gods and vow never to think a good performing mod priced "might just be a keeper".....until next time.

:)

Played very well, JS wise, there a quite a few similar types that can play the pressure forward role. Not even sure if he'll be going to the hub, as Neill Balme has stated some older and younger players won't be going and would probably miss out anyway, so they can focus on 1 on 1 development with coaches that will stay back. He said they're taking players over that will help them win, not for development opportunities. Time will tell.
I think he is a near certainty to keep his spot for a month.

No Cotchin and Prestia at a minimum opens up two spots in midfield for either returning players or those in team to push up ground more.
Edwards and Houli not traveling means another two holes need to be filled.

Nankervis out is another hole that will probably not impact Aarts.

That is 5 changes before even thinking about Aarts, can't seem them choosing to make a 6th after his performance. Considering a few of those coming in were clearly considered not best 22 few days ago, I would suggest they would all be more susceptible to the axe than this kid in a fortnights time.

If he is on the plane, he is flying in to my side!

You confident Yeo's turned the corner? Or just anticipating the WA hub domination.
With Shuey out for a few it is hopefully Yeo who at least short term benefits with more time in the guts... even if he goes back to his old role he has proven to be a good scorer... hopefully back to back games against Adelaide and Freo will help the whole team find their mojo

Might try for one more round from pitt who will hopefully squeeze out a few more $$$ and try Starc to Haynes, Noble/Brander to Aaarts. Also means a no rookie defence which has a lot of peace of mind value. Pitt, Rowell and Viney can be next rounds problem.

Agree with this.

Pitto is still scoring great for bloke I paid $310k for and he is still going up, Viney is a concern but wait a week or 2. Rookie mids look like they are maxxed out and quite likely to get dropped (Brown/Budarick/Rivers) so covering donuts is going to be my focus on thursday night. Rowell & Brown (or anyone else who might get dropped) to Aarts and Yeo looks like the smart trading option for me.
