I could spend the majority of my ? on going Pittonet - > Gawn but that probably means playing the likes of :-

D5 Noble/Hamill
D6 Starcevich
M7 Bennell
M8 McInerney/Brown/Mahony/Rivers

for the rest of the season

Surely Gawn can't maintain this rate of scoring ? or can he ?

As much as I love KFC I might have to look at some Red Rooster instead.

If Carlton drop Pittonet I might actually play a ? for a week to reassess.

Maybe De Koning is named or Essendon pick Draper.

If every round after Round 8 is best 18 I might not need a R2 at all.

Too many thoughts
Pittonet to Gawn looks attractive, but it's a large chunk of cash to splash.

Currently looking at a few of the ~$550k ruck options ie English/Witts/O'Brian etc as options.
I've got Grundy, so would be happy if my 2 rucks scored 200-250 and then upgrade some rookies on other lines.

This week, 4 - King filling in for Ceglar, Rankine, Simpson and Serong ...5 if you count Stephen Hill. I made a deliberate choice to minimise on field rookies, I most likely keep 2-3 on field in the short term while my second rotation of bench rookies flattens up, but I have the opportunity to get the mod pricers up to quality in the next 2 weeks. Over 800k in the bank, and it's like 40k to go D. Smith to B. Smith. Then I can spend 400k on Parker and someone, leaving 250k to get to Neale. Maybe.

Then I'd have 19 premos or reasonably performing mid pricers, 3 on field rookies and hopefully 6 on bench playing rookies.

Of course carnage probably ruins that, but that is my current plan. To go from a 200k rookie up is a long way, but I've basically rotated out that first wave of underperforming rookies already, and I was never any chance to be full premo on that wave.

(In all likelihood Dawson survives, and probably one of Ainsworth and Devon Smith as well (both dual position), if there's a rookie I like in the next fortnight then there's a fair chance I only go 3 up, but potentially both MacRae and Neale, and 1 down.. I started with Gawn and Grundy but very light for premium mids, rather going Yeo and Coniglio and Oliver, now is an opportunity to bring in a couple of the top premiums at a slightly discounted price. Basically I've got the same as everyone else, who have the top premos and are bringing in Yeo and Coniglio at a discounted price. Having the mid pricers kept rookies off field, but didn't net me enough points to make up for the underperformance of Coniglio and Yeo, but I'm holding them for sure.
Thanks for such a detailed reply , sounds like you have a very good structure and well thought out plan.

I actually don't mind that strategy of starting "lesser priced" mid premiums , (providing they still score well enough) Ithink I am automatically drawn to those $ 600 k + for my starting sides , outside of Neale a lot of the higher priced starting mids have probably dropped their averages (so far)

Their always seems to be a lot of fallen mid premiums around $ 525 k at this stage of the season , so maybe saving money at the start and then waiting for others to drop is a good idea.

Gawn & Grundy saves a lot of headaches as well.

Unfortunately my bench is struggling to play and generate $$$ so chasing value priced players as my upgrade targets , not sure if I am just digging a bigger hole for myself or not ?

Rankine could very well end up a season premium keeper , Hill will serve his purpose and Simpson's JS has increased again (seemingly) with Selwoods injury and Ablett returning home.

Where are you ranked ?

Good luck with it all ?

That's my thinking as well , spend the majority of my cash for Gawn (say 150) + onfield rookie (say 50) for the rest of the season or try and get 2 90-100 premiums instead.

Will need to get the pen & paper out tonight after the final game and work through my options and what works best long term.

Feel the pain of those without Gawn. Made the unusual (for me) choice of Grundy &Gawn as if not my first 2 picked certainly in my first 3. I think now he is too expensive to get without compromising the ability to upgrade the rest of your team. I would be looking at the following in no particular order.
O'Brien, Witts,Natanui,Lobb,Marshall &English who are all first choice rucks in their own right with ceilings that are acceptable.

Will have to wait till lockout to be sure but seems the only way I can now go pitto -> Gawn by trading out a rookie is to go down to a $ 102 k FD.

Can’t believe that pitto drops around $ 29 K and Gawn goes up $ 27 k for adding $ 56 k to the gap! Brutal when I’d allowed for $ 30 k.
Yeah, I was of the opinion that I was going to give him a bit a longer and eek out every last bit of value while I dealt with StarcV et al. No more, last weeks double down plus a rookie downgrade this week. I normally don't buy the hype...eg Macrae two years ago, Neale twice, but here I'm making an exception... cause Pitto just has to go!

There is understandably alot of talk from non-Gawn owners this week. But what about non-Neale owners. Even with a high BE of 195 coming into this week, he is a must-get.

I still need to off-load Fyfe and this may be my last chance to grab Neale with an additional $70K.

Don’t have either and hoping Neale slides some more. I have the likely average gap between Neale and some of the sub $ 550 midfielders available as maybe 20 -30 points, whereas the seeming gap between Gawn and other sub $ 550 rucks could be 50 points (especially if he plays every game from here on with his bye game already out of the way)

Neale is on the radar for sure, but I'm hoping for another drop. That said, I feel there are more alternatives to Neale as a scorer in his position than Gawn in the Rucks.

Thought Neale was best to get Round 10 at about $ 660 k according to Brice Mitchell's price projections.

Unfortunately like Gawn , Neale's price makes him unviable to be in my side.
