Essendon and Melbourne players have as much chance as being rested in Round 9 - 12 as players from other clubs so that nullifys any "extra game" advantage".
I agree I cannot see the ubers playing all games, rotations are going to creare more carnage for coaches. Then teams masseuse will be working over time next few weeks.
49 games in X days. Assuming no unanticipated delays the end date will probably be Sunday 20th September but could be Monday 21st September, ie 5 weeks after the end of Round 12.
As the AFL have tried to keep a regular fixture for Rounds 9-12 in the sense that their are no Double Game Weeks we can only assume for now that Rounds 13-18 may be similar, which is good for fantasy footy.
It would make sense for the byes to be front ended towards rounds 13 & 14 and more regular rest to apply in Rounds 17 & 18 if they intend to launch straight into finals to minimise time in hubs. Presumably the last few home and away games would be between teams out of finals contention when the final fortnight of the fixture is released as used to be the case when the Round 23 floating fixture was released but before the post Round 23 bye introduced.
Had him from the start , frustratingly has already missed 2 games in 8 , so do you keep him or trade him out next time he misses (or hopefully have a premium F7 in readiness) , given he rarely plays close to a full season.
I think the value of the game in hand is being overestimated recently. Assuming bye rounds continue using best 18 scoring, the value of Petracca playing effectively replaces your 18th highest score for that round.
As many are completing their teams, I would estimate the 18th score to be around 60-70, meaning the extra game is really only giving a 30-40 point benefit (assuming Petracca goes around 100).
This is however assuming there is not too much carnage. Obviously if you are only able to field 17 without him, Petracca becomes very valuable.
I agree with your take. Personally I think quite a few teams will be struggling for numbers unless they give us even more than 34 trades (which I see as unlikely - they know more byes are coming and just announced the 34), but it’s hard to fault your thinking on the scenarios.
You can swap Rivers to MID via Starcevich to give you the following options and still keep your Grundy/Gawn VC loop.
1: Egg (45) + Serong/Starc
2: Budarick (59) + Williamson
Think I'll take Option 2 with that +14 points advantage and I feel that Williamson will have every chance to put up a score against my boys too.
946/7 with Josh Kelly VC to C, Macrae, Whitfield, Greenwood,Pickett, Buderick,Rankine.
I only put the VC on Kelly because I couldn't use Neale ( same game as Gawn) or Grundy ( no loop that late in the round)
