I think at 115K, he's a lock in most teams. He'll make cash which is what we want...
I think if other forward rookies like Garlett, Honeychurch, Broomhead and Nankervis if R/F will start ahead of him for me. Melbourne talls just aren't convincing and if Dawes/Clark go down, Hogan could get one of the better defenders. I haven't thought about my structure too much and I am still very open about who to include, and i may include Hogan too

Buddy is a good get at that price no doubt. The question is how will the Swans use him?

With the talk of Buddy I have just seen this...

Pretty sure most people already knew he was going to be about that price anyway.

Quite a number of coaches mentioned Honeychurch. I ll keep an eye out for him in preseason.

Definitely. Another thing with Hogan is that the Demons have Spencer, Gawn and Fitzpatrick all vying for the number 1 ruck spot, i'm unsure who's leading the race there, but occasionally one of the may play forward, meaning Hogan will get less of it or less games. But yeah, if he can play the first 10 or so games and have a reasonable outfit, seems a good selection, depending on pricing.

I think Dawes might miss some early games and Hogan is ready to step up to AFL football. The Dees are not looking to play finals football next year so it will be a development year for them. I think its fair to say that Hogan will get a lot of game time opportunity.

If that's true then the MN has gone up a little from ~5350 to ~5400.
Spot on Nk29, it means a higher MN or they have shifted systems to "opinion pricing" or "multi years average pricing". Either way, that combined with higher priced Rookies spells a HUGE change to SC. Unless the salary cap is increased, we all have to rethink our strategies!
It's kind of unbelievable, after near the end of last season Ablett was leaked as a confirmed $630k for 2014, which meant a 10% lowering of the MN.
I think we're in for a frantic and confusing few hours, when SC finally opens.

And what about those final hours before final lockout when you think, 'what if i do this and do this instead' and start reshuffling with a less familiar type structure with less familiar pricing to previous years :D

Article in The Age today saying umpires will let players use reasonable force in marking duels next season as the league attempts to address concerns about hands in the back free kicks. Should help likes of buddy, pavlich even more.

Excellent point.

Now we just have to figure out how it will affect everyone when the umpires reinterpret the rules in round 2!!

Mitchell v Parker v Chappy? All around the same price and all M/F.

Mitchell (20 years old)
2013 - 12 games @ 86 ave

Parker (21 years old)
2013 - 22 games @ 87 ave
2012 - 16 games @ 70 ave
2011 - 11 games @ 52 ave

Chapman (32 years old)
2013 - 6 games @ 96 ave
2012 - 20 games @ 100 ave
2011 - 20 games @ 101 ave

Chappy has been given a 10% discount but less upside of the other 2. In order, which would everyone choose?

None ideally, but if I had to choose then Parker, Chapman, Mitchell.

Give me the proven performer, over the speculative break out player(s), everytime. Chappy. :)

if we had 44 trades - chappy! but as we don't it is a no for me. of the other 2....

safe - parker for natural progression, will be a solid scorer and best 22 - those stats you posted look pretty good
x factor - mitchell has the game to break out like danger or beams but will it be this year? or will he flatten out for a year, head back to the 2's and/or get injured. risk/reward option

for me it depends on the type of player you are looking for to compliment your fwd line when choosing between them
