I believe with the new rule in place, KPFs will have a higher chance to use their body to jostle for marks and potentially goals.

What are peoples thoughts on Gunston? Averaged 83 last year but had scores of 18, 35 and 37. If you eliminate these scores from his average it goes up to 92. His scores in the finals were superb and without buddy could kick a lot more goals next year. The only downside I can see is that he will attract teams 2nd best Defenders this year.

Gunston is a star in the making no doubt i'm biased though. I will be looking at him long and hard, he can certainly be prone to a shocker. Although i believe at least one of those games were sub effected. I think he can stand up this year, not only for Hawthorn but for fantasy teams. He moves up the ground and even has regular stints on the wing. Very mobile so can see alot of the pill. Im still not certain on starting him, but defiantly on the cards. Personally i think he can take the grab, and also kick them from crumbs and on the run. I can see him averaging 90+ and if all goes well 95+
Great POD and i dont think he will be overly affected by better defenders, so fast!!

Yep I like the option of Gunston as a little bit of a POD, but due to the structure that I want to play with and my other selections I won't be selecting him.

One thing that I am not 100% sure I agree with (that is atm) is that most people are suggesting he automatically gets the second bets defender now that Buddy is gone. I'm not so sure to be honest. Remember the Hawks have now got McEvoy, and no longer have Bailey. This still means that Hale and Roughead will play majority forward now we have an adequate ruck man who should be able to run out the game better than what Bailey could. In my mind Roughead gets the number 1 defender, Hale the number 2, and Gunston gets the 3rd tall or the most mobile of the oppositions defenders.

Just my opinion, would like to hear what you think Jandrews.

This bloke is a fabulous player in the making, pure and simple. Had him or Franklin in and out and its only 18/12! Gunston back in, certainly better on the bye front for me. Do something stupid preseason Franklin, make it easy for me!

Again I agree with everything you state, will be interesting to see what our structures, and more to the point opposition teams defensive structures are come the NAB Challenge games, etc.

Round 16 vs Port - 110 Pts
Round 17 vs WB - 82 Pts
Round 20 vs StK - 73 Pts

Average - 88 Pts

Is there room for him with Rioli, Hill, Puop??o, Lewis etc.

I don't expect any more than about 10 games from Garlett this year, and a few of them as sub. But hey i'd love to be wrong.
Hawks do have strong small forwards, but id consider Garlett to be more like Breust, He is just under 6ft at 181cm. Pre-Season will be the only real way to know, but he is quick and can make space and plays effectively.

With the new marking interpretation change coming next season, is it possible power forwards could be good for supercoach in 2014?

Will players like Cloke, Franklin, Petrie, Roughead and Tippett (who can out muscle a lot of defenders) become more viable than ever this season?

I am feeling a little tempted by Tippett, with the addition of the marking interpretation and knowing that he will ruck some. The downside is we don't know what Buddy will do to his points/role.
