Impey a few touches, including an intercept mark real early in the game. Just let himself down with a couple of errors by foot.

Tim English was everywhere, and Stef Martin took a fair chunk of the ruck that term, not being chopped out for the first 7-8 mins or so.

Bont doing as he pleases, and if only we could trust that Dunks got this role in the real stuff.

Downie and Brockman impressive. Both will go close for round one you’d suspect. Hanrahan kicking 3 and doing some nice things might make it a touch tougher for Brockman.

Koszitchke super quiet. As I’ve been saying, even with the DEF rookies non existent, look elsewhere or restructure.

Impey, lock him in. Only going to get better with a bit better ball use.

Greaves a really impressive last term.

DBG played the second half. Out of his depth at the moment. Can now definitely forget him for round one.

It’s a big call, but wouldn’t be surprised if Worpel goes 110 in the near future.

Thanks for the updates, annoyed I had to miss the game, but it's a busy week at work this week, especially today/tomorrow.

Downie is one I expected to be a good player, thought he may have been given a few games in the VFL first, but sounds promising for Rd 1 which is great news.

I only watched bits and pieces. What were your thoughts on Phillips?

Pretty solid. Definitely had a fair blend of wing and inside mid time, thought he kicked it reasonably well.

Very interested to hear what people thought of Phillips as well and can I add McEvoy to the list? Was he clearly the number 1 ruck? Could be an interesting mid-priced defender option if he takes the ruck mantle back.
See above for Phillips.
McEvoy certainly played more ruck minutes than I anticipated he would. Certainly not a clear number ruck role, it was probably fairly evenly shared today between him and Ceglar, with the resting ruck sitting forward given McEvoys marking capabilities, and to an extent Ceglars. Personally I’d like to see is go solo with McEvoy, but can’t see that happening, so it will be shared as it was in the past pre McEvoys move to defence.

For me, Impey and Downie look locks and I was impressed by Bont (had some shocking disposals) but just cruised around getting plenty of it and he seemed to attend a lot of CB's. Daniel looks like he'll have another good season, they love it in his hands and he doesn't waste many possessions, also Lachie McNeil could be a sneaky round 1 selection, looked pretty good from what I saw.

Dunkley is now out of my side atm, as it doesn't look like he will get much midfield time again (looks like he is still behind Libba and Smith) and didn't do much when forward.
