Love it! Only thing I'd do is probably downgrade Heppell to a rookie and upgrade Sloane (I just feel like he's cooked)
Could probably use a little cash to upgrade Highmore (assuming he doesn't make the cut) to Cox.
But nice side, I'm running Daniel as well, just feel like he's flying under the radar.

You may well be right. Pretty sure from memory they had injuries last year when he got his debut. He had a good score against Gold Coast. I will be happy if he gets a game and Freo indicate he is best 22 but we will wait and see.
Add me to the list who'd be genuinely surprised if he wasn't in their team and an important part of it come round 1. They had injuries all across their backline all season but he came in round 2 (made to earn it) and was going from strength to strength until the injury derailed the season.

Prodigious talent, the list of genuine HBFs taken inside the top 10 is incredibly low so really highlights what they think of him.

Also worth noting that Cerra, who started last season across HB, had matured into a full fledged midfielder by seasons end and, imo, that's the opening that will be his.

The real question on Young is can he score well enough in just his 2nd season to generate the cash required at his price. I think he can but I'd rather not pay that premium to find out if I can avoid it. Think his brother is still a better value option. I also think he's the best of that price group though.

it's been a few days since I posted my team, made some adjustments. No rookies in defence, relying on Oleg purely on opportunity and role, will be fed the ball to run and carry. Brought Green in, hoping Cameron gives him a decent go in the middle, was awesome last year, but not given much of a go. Lazzaro an interesting one on my mid bench, not sure he gets a game 1st up. @Herbie66 found a spot for Jack.

See 7 Carlton players is a lot better 😀

Is Dow best 22 ?

Cripps , FHOF , Martin/Williams

Who is your next rotation if Curnow , Murphy & Setterfield don't go in their ?

Dow is best 22 in the preseason and fringe for the season opener. He's a placeholder atm pending how he performs in the Community Series game and where they play him. Could easily downgrade as the teams are announced right to the last game to Bailey Williams.

I will put him in at the moment and monitor his next game.

At least with Carlton having the first game in Round 1 we will know whether he is playing or not.

ok been reading about Gawn , Grundy & Preuss so here's a thought , don't start any of them 😀

call me crazy , but it wouldn't be the same with out a crazy idea and crazy team

D: Laird * , Stewart , Docherty , Zac Attack + 2

M: Neale , Oliver , Macrae , Jelly , Fyfe , Cripps , Campbell * , Finrae

R: MARSHALL * , McEVOY *

F: Heeney , JZ , Joey , Impey + 2

13 possible keepers + the 3 premo forward rookies

how good does that midfield look 😍

If and when Fyfe & Jelly break turn them into R1 & R2

This could be the year 🤗
Might need to re-jig this idea 🤔

D5 & D6 still a problem though

Flynn @ R2

D: LLOYD , LAIRD * , DANIEL , STEWART , McEvoy * , Butts / Cox * , Ling

M: KELLY , DANGERFIELD * , FYFE , BOAK , WALSH , CRIPPS , Caldwell * , E Smith * / Downie , Durdin * , Gulden

R: GRUNDY , Flynn / Nyuon *

M: Ziebell , Daniher , Impey , Dow * , Campbell * , Cahill / Jones , Madden *

11-2-4-5

Meek could be a option to the D/R setup

Treacy could be a alternative if Williams and/or Fullarton are named

The latest version.. feels like it's starting to take shape and feeling better about the rookies.

Not sold on having both Williams and Duggan (will keep at least one), but otherwise fairly happy with how it's shaping up. Probably weighing up the difference between dropping one of Steele/Trac/Merrett for a cheaper premium mid and then taking one of Williams or Duggan up to someone around the price of Mills, or keeping things as are.

The more and more things go, the more a no premium forward line feels good, as long as there is insurance in a fwd-mid premium.

Welcome aboard.

This is probably the most POD team I’ve seen. Some I can see a good argument for, others I may have missed something.

A few specific thoughts:

- Many people seem to regard Laird as a lock. I think he’s the Adelaide defender turned midfielder to pick over Brodie. Also helps
make your back line more solid.

- Rowell and especially Cockatoo seem to have injury concerns.

- Stephenson did not seem to get many centre bounce attendances on the weekend, which I suspect significantly reduces his appeal. Most are fielding the likes of Ziebell, Daniher, Impey up forward.

- English is a huge POD and seemingly will share ruck minutes with Stefan Martin - he may go premium (maybe even Uber premium) soon, but you might be a year or two early. Gawn has a good early draw and appears in good form. He’s one most are finding the cash for.

- Flynn at R3 looks a lock if he is the #1 ruck.

- To be honest I’d have to research Tomlinson, Hooker and Edwards to form a view on them as picks. Certainly they are left field. I think there’s a good argument for well chosen left field picks down back, maybe less so in Edwards’ case. Richmond don’t tend to have high scoring midfielders and Edwards is getting old. Maybe if he was forward or def eligible. I reckon someone like Jayden Short could be similarly PODish (if you’re seeking that) and be a decent pick down back.

- It’s a minor point, and you don’t seem overly exposed in terms of injury risk, but if I was starting an injury prone Freo player, I’d go Fyfe over Walters. Alternately J Kelly seems to have had a good preseason and he’s in a similar mould to Fyfe. If you’re taking the injury risk, I reckon you want to get paid for it, and Fyfe/Kelly both offer more of that in my view.

Good luck!
